I just had a look, that game is on the City Website 10th April this year. That was Dunney. Gary Speed R.I.P scored the penalty for Bolton. David James speaks about it. It happened in 2005. The game with the Jihai Sun own goal happened in 2003. There is a story I just found in The Northern Echo "A Victory for Magnificent Defence " Apparently Middlesboro didn't have a shot or a corner. Kevin Keegan is quoted as saying " It was an incredible match and it's hard to believe the result". Seems like despite all City's recent success there still remains an element of " Typical City"It wasn't an own goal it was hand ball I think by Dunney. Must be a stato on here that can confirm?
You think all their Phuket Reds buy their shirts from registered outlets? :/merchandising (although that still probably functions up to a point in Phuket, Brisbane, Xian, etc.)
They proved their own maxim they repeated over and over.
Money doesn't buy you success :)
Wonder how hr thinks not getting UEFA football will help improve those things it really is a dumb conclusion
No it's not.I'm actually tempted to watch Rags v Villa on Sunday just to laugh at the vitriol coming for their Players, Coach and Manager by the entitled twats .... but we're playing down at Craven Cottage and still need a point?
Tricky one????
Thanks, a similar thing happened in 2003 with a Sun Jihai own goal. Apparently they didn't have a shot or a corner all game but somehow still won the game.![]()

This was the one I was thinking about. I don't think Bolton had a shot on target until that pen. We all walked out in stunned silence.
Yes I was there with a Boro fan and neither of us could believe it.The game I was thinking of was Middlesboro. Apparently they didn't have a shot or a corner but got three points l just found it in The Northern Echo " A Victory for Magnificent Defence " 1st December 2003.

How many more times.......it's 657 million or, 1 one eighth of the worlds total population. You think all their Phuket Reds buy their shirts from registered outlets? :/
All their squillions of fans across the globe will be wearing knock off snide "Gorton Market" specials and the scum won't be making a single penny from it.
Im pretty certain it was against WBA. I was there that day, miserable mid winter weather and freezing. It wasn't an own goal it was hand ball I think by Dunney. Must be a stato on here that can confirm?
Yep. It's hard to compare precisely across eras, but all the underlying data says this is a relegation standard team that might have easily gone down. Perhaps if there was a real risk they'd have put a bit more energy in the league and likely survived, but on raw performance they have been saved by the fact there are three worse teams. The infamous Stuart Pearce season where we only scored 10 goals at home all season, and none after New Year’s Day, saw us amass 42 points. Rags are on 39 points with 1 to play… some perspective as to their level! They are at best on a par with us under Pearce, only they spent over £1 billion to get there.
