Wow that’s staggering, I’m actually surprised they aren’t in the minus territory.
That is something to behold. They are 4 complete seasons and doesn't include this seasons 4 games, that would put them at +1 so if they continue on their current trajectory (down) then it will be a minus 5 season goal difference. The gift that keeps on giving.

Save Our Interim!!!

There lies one of their main problems.

I'm convinced that the media are complicit in the rags demise. They can't help themselves it would seem.

It's a fascinating conundrum the media have got with the rags, they're so desperate for them to regain a foothold in the league yet they can't leave them alone.

Their obsession with everything rag, just compounds the problem and highlights every flaw and blunder the filth make. Talk about airing your dirty laundry.

Even when the media try to put a positive spin on things for the rags, it tends to have an adverse effect on them.

While I'm writing this, I'm thinking to my self: "hang on, this probably belongs in the media thread" but that's the thing.

You cannot separate the media from the rags and vice-versa. The two entities have embroiled themselves so tightly into the most dysfunctional relationship possible, it has become the most watched daily soap opera.

All we need now is a theme tune to go with it.
Gotta be Benny Hill !

Some rag blogger popped up on my Facebook feed and out of curiosity I clicked on it to see him wallowing in self pity. Instead I was seeing total delusion, City were there for the taking and they were playing well and they should have won. How do they see the game of football completely different to everyone else? Better finishing from City, that game could have turned into an absolute demolition.

So what happens next then? Does this rag squad keep buying into what Amorim is trying to implement or do they all revert to form? Sulk, go hiding and down tools on the manager. There’s players in that squad who have done this to Mourinho, Solksjaer and Ten Haag but the press were telling us everything was different this time before the season kicked off.
Have they ever bought into it. The clip of Amid not tracking Doku to the byline once he'd sent Shaw for a milkshake & rat face letting Foden have a free header was telling

They're telling them what they want to hear so they can get the engagement. 1st goal is always huge in the derby, but coming home from the game I couldn't remember them having a shot on target even though the stats said 2

Doku getting two attempts to put his cross in and Fernandes ambling towards the box whilst Foden changes direction and gets a free run to head it in.

The third was an absolute disaster, Haaland being the closest player to their keeper in his own half. They aren’t exactly pulling up trees to sort this out are they?

I don't ever remember seeing any game, where a team went through in a clear one-on-one with the keeper 3-4 times in 90 minutes.

And when you see the still of Haaland's second, where two defenders are going towards the ball and two going backwards, it says it all.

They are a mess.

Amorim is a dead man walking. He has 3 games to save his job. That would bring us up to November international break. Which also coincides with him being manager for over a year.

He has a clause in his contract that if he is sacked within the first 12 months, he receives 12m in a severance pay out. If he is sacked after 12 months, he only gets half that.

If they lose to Chelsea he is gone.

This might be related to their improved attacking stats (high xG and shots on goal). They've spent £200m on forwards so you had better not park the bus away from home. Hence they are trying to be more progressive and hence are shipping goals.

I wondered about that. He's pushing for the sack but he wants the pay-off. It makes sense, given the nature of his recent interviews - throwing the players under the bus, telling the club if you want a manager who will change tactics get someone else in, etc.

Shame if he goes, but at least he'll have rinsed the bastards for another bumper payout.

Sesko's powder puff effort from outside the box, which I am not sure it was on target and Mbuemo's volley
