United Want To Match And Better City's Youth / CFA Academy

I can't be arsed adressing the same point over & over again but a pmayer not making it at any club, is not proof that the player couldn't have made it. There are many reasons. One big reason imo is bad management of the player between the levels of reserve/ youth football & the first team.

We lose a lot of players in this country because of that & imo City have been guilty of that & are doing it badly right now.
Send your CV to the club mate....you're an expert

Wes Brown, John Oshea, Neville played there, ofc tge top of my head & in my team Denayer would probably have played more games at right back & def mid so far than at cb anyway.

I think comparing Utd in the late 1990s (Brown, O'shea) with City in the 2010s is misleading. That you had to go back over 15 years since when the competition and rewards are significantly different does not counter my point about recent CBs.

I know fuck all about Utds youth policy etc and am not interested but the statement that someone will play when they are good enough seems very reasonable to me.

Or am I going a bit special needs

No you are just assuming it to be true when there is no evidence to suggest it in this current City set up. There are very few kids who start in people's first teams being better than the senior players. They are brought in & 'do a job' here & there. Some become 'good enough' sone are moved on. We are seeing that happening with Iheanacho at City but nobody else.

They have kids playing cb for the past two years. What era do you want to compare ? Find one where they didn't do it & talk about that ?

And they've fucked Blackett off to Celtic and Mcnair only gets a game because of the injuries to Smalling, Jones and Rojo. On top of that the 2 kids at fullback this weekend were bought in the last few years and again have only played due to injuries.

In hindsight i'm sure Pellegrini and the staff wished they'd kept Denayer however at the time they obviously thought playing every week on loan was more beneficial than playing a bit part role in the squad this season.

Also it's all well and good moaning that at 3-0 up we should play some of the kids but we've plenty of seasoned pro's who are part of the first team squad and he's also got to keep those happy, as i see it, they'll play if they're good enough if not they won't.

Don't they
There are experts at the club already & I recon some of them would agree with me, but I gather they have told you different ?
I'm not an expert mate nor do I speak to staff at the club....I just go to games and shout etc.

Neither do I compare what Utd do to us nor do I preach to everyone what City should be doing.

Name one who broke through and established himself from the youth academy in the last 10 years.
Breaking into the team is not the same as turning up once or twice. Utd in the last 2-3 years have had no defenders fit - Carrick has played there on occasion - and needs forced it.
City have rarely run out of CBs completely, have they?

Except for keeper, I think centrehalf is the hardest position to emerge in at a top club who have to win every match they can. Obviously Denayer would be better playing - I don't know why he isn't much - but he may still be learning things. Demichelis was fine last season but seems to have gone off the cliff now. Bring Denayer back next year and put him in the squad. Overly cautious maybe, but absolutely understandable.

Good point. When exactly have City been 3-0 this season?!
