United Want To Match And Better City's Youth / CFA Academy

Well it's the bit about 'making it' I was referring to, as my opinion is that they play if they can 'do a job' for the squad.

Whether they then 'make it' or not, is a totally seperate discussion & probably takes time in each case. If I use Maffeo as an example. I think he could be some use to the squad perhaps even in more than one position. I think his debut should have been about a year ago & he would now have shed any nerves he might have & Pellegrini would know what he can & can't do.

That could just save Sagna six months out by taking him off before he gets injured. If Maffeo then neve gets any better, he just gets moved on. But the squad benefits now.
I also think he should have been used, and the only reason I can see,is that the manager does not trust his other defenders to help him at this moment in time.
A bad inditement on the present defence

Pozo's selection cannot be in any way twisted to fit in with the usual argument. He picked an out of form out if position kid for the first team, as a starter.

No, he didn't.
Pozo was promoted when Dzeko was injured warming up vs Leicester. There had been no plan to have Pozo start until immediately before.

His other appeareances sub vs Sheff Weds (cup) for Toure, sub vs Sunderland (league), sub vs Everton.

Fair enough. I'm mixing up the teams due to shirt colours.

Still doesn't change the fact he was an out of form kid, who was struggling in the EDS but it suited Pellegrini to chuck him in, out of position.

This destroys the argument that his reason for not picking kids is due to a perceived unacceptable risk. He will do it if it suits him. He just doesn't.

Well, I'm completely lost now.
Kids get played when the manager decides to, dependent probably on competition, opponent and injuries in place. Does he do it enough? No idea.

No, you really aren't lost at all.

He doesn't play kids, because he CHOOSES not to. Not because it's an unacceptable risk or because they are all weaklings or because they are no good, or 'not ready'. He weighs up playing a cb or frank Lampard at cf & thinks 'nah, I'll chuck Pozo in' On another day, he thinks 'shall I bring in Maffeo & give him 20 mins to rest Sagna at the end, with Zabba being out' thinks nah fuckit, I'll gamble on sagna.

It's a 'choice' he makes when he weighs up the pros & cons, not some unwritten rule of 'compromising the team' which all these bullshit artists are feeding us.

The kids don't play, because he chooses to pick the older players because he prefers them.

And once again.

Marwood has told you that he agrees with Pellegrini not using any of the kids off the bench has he? What about Vieira ? Does he agree with you too ? And Sheikh Mansour ? He told you Maffeo isn't upto 20 mijs as sub for Sagna did he ?

Nobody told me, nor have they told you or any of us on here. What's your point?

I will ask again because it got ignored,

Who are the young players who have left because they didn't get enough chances, and who are now good enough to be in City's first team?

Because if the answer is "none", then the argument is over.

Exactly. And precisely the point I was making earlier. It's more people involved who talk about then progression of young players. But Pellegrini has the final say and decides who plays in what position in the end.It has nothing to do what player he likes, if they are young or old. He picks them to send out a team to win the game. That's his job. The EDS-managers' job is to deliver players that can actually challenge for a first team spot.

It got ignored because no one is suggesting that players have left that are currently better than what we've got. Yet.
