Unpopular opinions

That‘s the first ‘unpopular opinion’ I’ve read on here that actually pisses me off.
It's very true. There is a type if leaching of of the good standing of the military that really pisses me off. The Captain Tom thing was a classic example. Fair play to him, but his family and the tabloid hacks banging on about it really boil my piss.

Crikey this thread got to 20 pages without an all out war, Bluemoons gone timid these days

He don't look happy. He looks an embittered crosspatch

She's not my idea of beauty. Have a square meal, love, and stop spouting drivel
He looks extremely happy with his life the one they both chose together I find him a breath of fresh air in the media driven royalty row.
My opinion will be unpopular I know folk who revel in other peoples lives without ever meeting or knowing them personally, opinion formed by reading what a palace insider said “here say“
He did two tours of duty In Afghanistan and his mother died when he was young that’s enough for me.

The media and hangers on i agree about, but the guys and girls serving our country and those who served deserve respect.

Some paid the ultimate price of freedom while training to deter Russia from doing the very thing it has now been able to do following years of political ineptitude and defence cuts. Thankfully during the cold war days our professionalism and dedication kept peace in Europe.

It's the tabloid media that encourages the over the top military adulation. You see it in the US as well. Weird right wing fetishism where every one who has served has to be described as a hero irrespective. I know a lot if people in the military, many have normal jobs. Cooks, drivers accountants etc.

And without those jobs, the people on the frontline couldn’t do their jobs, they also when needed will pick up a weapon and fight.
