We are signing eto'o, tevez and terry! 30,000 of us rush out and buy season tickets. Suprise, suprise they all fall through when our credit cards have been swiped and we end up with dean Ashton, chris samba and tugay.
Anyone remember many years ago we were supposed to sign john barnes in his prime, we ended up with Wayne Clarke. Season ticket sales had increased though on the strength of the rumour and it was said then that at least we were being linked with such players.
Well fuck being linked with them let's actually sign them.
Typical city eh mr. Cook.

I rush to buy season ticket every year and have done for too many yeasrs to remember. I buy my ticket because I support Man City not because of who we bought that season.........YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!!!!

30,000 rushing out to buy on the back of the Eto'o bid is obviously rubbish. It may have help sway a couple of thousand (who probably came to most, if not all, matches anyway) - but I'm pretty sure we always get c27,000 ST holders anyway...?

Firstly I just want to say that pulling the plug here was an excellent move by City, gives us a lot of respect as people's been saying!

But don't worry, there are other world-class players we can pursue!
Luís Fabiano - Robbie and Elano help us out with this one?
Zlatan Imbrahimovic - I rate him as top 3 in the world, not very realistic target but oh well...
Sergio Agüero - Biggest talent in the world apart from Messi at the moment, dare I say? Zab can put in a good word or five!
Edin Dzeko - Amazing talent, but supposedly he's signed a new contract and been promised a move next year with a £20m minimum release fee...
Diego Forlán - Aguero's partner in crime has shown quality for many years now, does seem a bit inconsisted perhaps.
Grafite - People forget he had an amazing season as well with Wolfsburg...
Bafétimbi Gomis - Two/three fantastic season with a relative weak Saint-Étienne in Ligue 1.
André-Pierre Gignac - Possibly the new Henry, even been called up to the French national team now. Serious class act!
Giuseppe Rossi - I know certain people has a problem with him because he was a youth player at the Rags, but to those I have a simple question: have you seen this kid play recently? He's fucking amazing! And he might bare a grudge against Bacon Face so perhaps he'd like to join us...

Does City need plan b?

Yeah, Santa Cruz has only had one good season and has a poor history with injuries, Bellamy was brilliant when he played but bad track record with injuries. Boj, bad injury track record but hopefully will come good. Big Fil is young and has raw talent but not proven. If we are to get top 6, possibly challenge the top 4 we need a proven goalscorer, 20+ goals a season. Eto'o would very likely have delivered that, so we need to find someone else who will. New guy (if we get someone), Tevez (if we sign him) Santa Cruz,Bellamy and Robinho (Bojinov if he comes good/stays fit) would give us some great attacking options but we need some proven quality in there if we are to have the kind of season everyone connected with the club wants.

There's plenty of options for us. I'm more concerned with forming a solid defense. It seems to me signing two top CBs is a bigger challenge than signing two top strikers.

I belive hughes will buy ibrahimovich, would be a good buy if he can get along with Bellamy.

God I hope not. After Totti Ibra is the most overrated player on the planet.

Not according to many of the top managers in the world..

I have noticed many dont rate ibrahimovitch perhaps im not totally objektive since iam swedish but ive watched all the inter matches in serie a and i must say he has done really well especially as he got a god eye for the game and can make increadible passes, think he and robinho would be amzing to watch together. But i know that sucess in seria a is not always a guarantee for sucess in premier league.

Well I'm Norwegian so by right I should hate every Swede (think Scotland - England), but I'm a big fan of Ibra (same thing happened with Larsson actually)...
He's just got a bloody out-of-this-world natural technical talent it almost borders on disgusting, and he's a brilliant finisher. I'd agree he's very good at passing and moving into space.
He does have a bit of a weird side, much like (old) Ronaldo I suppose that sometimes he doesn't seem bothered and just mopes around on the field. But the thing is, if they need to win the game and the clock ticks to 80th minute if his team mates can't create anything, Ibra will suddenly get the devil in him. Just grabs the ball and does an amazing solo effort to get that one goal they need. Entirely effortless!

Well he plays in a declining league. His goalscoring ratio isn't particularly good for club or country.

I'm not saying he is useless but some people talk like he should be in a world 11 when he is far from that good = overrated compared to his reputation.

I'd much prefer Villa if we could get him. compare the records.

Whether you like him or not I can't recall us being linked with us.

Forlan, however may well be our 'plan b'

for me forlan would be the worst out off all the names being thrown around because he couldn't cut it in england last time and he is 30 we need to build for the future the rest off the people on my list will be able to give at least 3-4 seasons to us weather they will suit the prem is a different storry
