I haven't trawled through the pages of this thread which is bloody lazy of me but I'm kind of in two minds about him to be honest. I've always been critical of him but he is better than what is fit (providing that Ned, Vinnie and Toure are all injured at the time of typing) but if thos 3 are fit then he is behind them in my honest opinion. He just doesn't do it for me but I would be happy to be proved wrong if he signed for us.

We should just press ahead with it now.

Upson has always looked far technically better in England games than Lescott for me. The only thing Lescott has over Upson (apart from age) is that he scores more goals, but that's hardly our main priority in a defender.

they did get taken over by another icelandic bank but about 48hrs after the takeover they were told there is little money for transfers, and hopefully they'd only have to sell 1 or 2, the takeover was a bit of a murky one! on upson himself i'd take him, simply because he wouldn't cost an arm and a leg and is better than TBH, dunne, and ned(at this moment in time), he comes with bags of experience, and although he's not a headline maker, he's definately not a gaff prone cart horse either, a defender that goes about his job quietly is a good defender IMO!

would deffo take him at mo.lescott looks like its not gonna happen and we NEED to get at least one decent defender in!! tbh cannot be allowed to near our squad in the premiership season.lets not forget upson is a regular in the england squad and capello is regarged as one if not the best coach in the world so if hes good enough for capello then hes good enough for me!! would feel happier next saturday if upson or lescott was in.
