If you look at the Opta facts for both players, Upson outshines Lescott in every department except scoring and tbh I dont want a defender because he scores every now and then (thats an added bonus) but a defender who is near the top and only Terry has better premiership stats! I would walk away from the Lescott deal now and sign Upson up. As I have already said, this is now a duel between Hughes and Moyes on the ego front, not whats best for either club.
