I'd just been replying the same.

United and Liverpool are pretty much locked in. Not sure Liverpool can drop out even if they crash out of the Europa without a win, and United are unlikely to drop out of the top 12 teams in Europe. Curiously, United got their best points recently for failing in the CL, but then reaching the final of the EL!

Of course. Hasn`t this been the reason for the sleight of hand regarding the entry criteria. It was created to protect the chosen few. Its a fucking disgrace.

It's another opportunity to win a trophy. In South America this is seen as arguably the biggest cup in club football, so there are players in our squad who'll be desperate to win it.

Someone else replied to this post, and turns out I was wrong. United and Liverpool can't get in, unless they win next year's CL, otherwise there's a limit of 2 teams per association.

Looks like the draw will be the end of November which will determine the opponents and venues, so it is impossible to plan and a complete write off.

In Japan the two semi venues were almost 300 miles apart, and in Morocco 150 miles. The two biggest stadia in RSA our about 600 miles apart, which would be a disaster, and so would the 3rd place play-off.

How much is a beer in Saudi?
You just have to buy the ingredients. A pal of mine worked in Saudi a few years back.

His first port of call was a supermarket where he purchased some of the Saudi near beer, grape juice, sugar, yeast and other ingredients plus a couple of Demijohn flasks, filter funnels, buckets, plastic tube and other gadgets. He was equipping himself to produce beer and wine on a significant scale.

He was just at the checkout when the call the prayer signal came up. The checkout closed temporarily for the call to prayer.

He was stuck by the till for around 20 minutes. Every westerner looking at the contents of his trolly was obviously thinking ‘I know what you are doing!’

i think that only 1 of them will be in, none of them would of been in if we lost but we would of been in

I'd do Dubai or Abu Dhabi for a week before christmas and then fly in/out for our games. But that would cost an absolute bomb. Don't think there will be too many concerned if supporters clubs get first dibs on these tickets.

From the wiki page, and this is mentioned in the FIFA page it links to:

"A restriction of two clubs per association will be applied, with an exception for champion clubs if more than two clubs from the same association win their confederation's top club competition."

So, unless the rules change (which is possible), or United win it next year (which is laughable), it looks like it's Chelsea and City only. Also looks like Ajax are guaranteed a spot, and then a team much lower down the rankings, with Rangers a possibility.

The best part is that with 14 European clubs, there will be a lot of big names, so it will be embarrassing for United and Liverpool not to be there.

I work in KSA at the minute, just landed back here now from Istanbul. Once they confirm whether it’s in Riyadh or Jeddah I will pull together something that might be helpful for anyone planning to travel.
Fancy this , hopefully tix no probs this time

Fuck you FIFA Stop forcing football on us just to make you richer.
Players are not machines, fans are not cash cows.

Fuck off
The tournament is nothing new, its been going for decades.Back in the 60`s I remember the Rags playing in Argentina I think it was and it was dubbed The Battle of the River Plate, as the Rags were literally booted off the park. ;)

We have just suffered 2 years of covid. Not one minute of football was lost because every gready organisation still wanted their slice of the pie despite what affects it had on players.
England now play in competitions against Macedonia and Andorra because FIFA want even more money.
Uefa invent more and more games, an expanded Champs League and two lower comps just to keep the expenses, hotels and brown envelopes coming in.
Now Fifa, not happy with a corrupt world cup in winter want this stupid competition
Meanwhile deBruyne and other top footballers are saying enough is enough. Their bodies cannot take the constant demands.

So I ranted but then you come along saying how it's all lovely, even though you were factually wrong with its year of conception. I posted shortly after blacked out limos sailed past me whilst I had desperately searched for a bus hidden in a wasteland miles from humanity. That was 12.30am, I hadn't had a drink of anything since 5pm. I managed to get a tram and got to a bar at 2.30am. At 4.30am Blues were only just joining me after being stuck in a cattle truck for hours. I am seriously thinking of sacking Champs League matches of all descriptions after being treated like an animal, so the last thing I want to see is some bloated bent bastard inventing a competition to fill his trousers with even more money.
The players are saying enough is enough and so am I.
Greed is killing the game.
Can`t argue with your last sentence BM. Spot on mate.

More boiling piss from our media.
"State Owned Manchester City will take in part in the World Club finals being held in the sportswashing nation of Saudi Arabia in the ultimate distraction from their inexcusable human rights records. This hydra of evil being facilited by FIFA the corrupt world body of Football....We at BBC Sports have gained exclusive rights of the tournament..."
