Sportswashing Arena. What stadium is it being held in
Sportswashing Arena. What stadium is it being held in
It has roots going back older than the Football League with the World Club Championship between the English and Scottish FA Cup winners in 1876.This competition started in 1960…
What?! That’s a very strange take.As a New Yorker who was directly affected by the September 11th attacks, the fact that Saudi Arabia is hosting the Club World Cup puts a stain on the entire event for me.
I’ll be much more interested in watching that than I would be international tournaments. We've also qualified for the new expanded format starting from 2025 too. From then it will be every 4 years.

Someone else replied to this post, and turns out I was wrong. United and Liverpool can't get in, unless they win next year's CL, otherwise there's a limit of 2 teams per association.
My favourite LaundretteSportswashing Arena.
Yeah, pisses me off every time Germany hosts a tournament. Oh England was at war with France at the battle of Waterloo too so the French hosting a tournament offends me.As a New Yorker who was directly affected by the September 11th attacks, the fact that Saudi Arabia is hosting the Club World Cup puts a stain on the entire event for me.
This is the US media narrative which began last week when LIV golf merged with the PGA.What?! That’s a very strange take.
It was a multi-National terrorist organisation that were the perpetrators of that, not Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is an ally of the UK and USA.
Seems odd that you’re a New Yorker yet don’t understand the finer details of it all. Just because some Saudi nationals were involved doesn’t have anything in relation to Saudi Arabia as a country.
Decent film that.My favourite Laundrette
I'm sure the same will be said at the next world cup should Trump return to being president...Yeah, pisses me off every time Germany hosts a tournament. Oh England was at war with France at the battle of Waterloo too so the French hosting a tournament offends me.
Then there was the Spanish Armarda coming over to have a go at Sir Francis Drake, interrupting his game of bowls on Plymouth Hoe, so a Spanish tournament offends me.
Then there's the fucking Roman's and the Vikings.....
You'll need to get used to it unfortunately. Rumours of 2030 WC being held there too.As a New Yorker who was directly affected by the September 11th attacks, the fact that Saudi Arabia is hosting the Club World Cup puts a stain on the entire event for me.
It most likely will be in Jeddah (where the Saudi team who are in the tournament play) and Riyadh. Its about 1 hour 45 flight between the two cities. I can't think of any other stadiums in the country that have a stadium with a big enough capacity. What stadium is it being held in
And all of your examples are of those countries being the warring or invading country.Yeah, pisses me off every time Germany hosts a tournament. Oh England was at war with France at the battle of Waterloo too so the French hosting a tournament offends me.

Nah bugger that.Send the kids and have the 1st team take a break.
I never mentioned SaudiAnd all of your examples are of those countries being the warring or invading country.
Saudi Arabia wasn't responsible for 11/9.
Beer in fanzones? What could possibly go wrong?actually, saudi arabia changed a lot lately; believe me; about women's right etc, they are getting ahead of us (turkey) (ok, i am exeggerating a little-they still have a long way to go, but they are on the right track lately). probably you ll buy beer in fanzones (thats what happened in 'Qatar'') maybe some top class hotels...dont know.
hundreds of us bladdered in the Embassy. It’s happened before...I live in Riyadh and it does look like alcohol is coming but I can't see it happening this year. So don't expect booze at this tournament. The Red sea resorts are going to have their own laws so it's a bit different.
That being said it is relatively easy to get alcohol if you want it - not just home brew. There is a pub in the British Embassy as well but you need an invite.
It will also be very easy to fly in and out from the UAE / Bahrain or Qatar all of which openly serve alcohol.

My grandad didn’t go to go to Germany for the 2006 World Cup for similar reasons- he said it would have brought back too many memories of his final day in Auschwitz (when he fell out of the machine-gun turret). As a New Yorker who was directly affected by the September 11th attacks, the fact that Saudi Arabia is hosting the Club World Cup puts a stain on the entire event for me.
