US & Israel attack Iran

Yeah the navigable bit is 25m deep and 11km wide.

If Iran wants to sink a ship they'd better do it soon as all their offensive missiles and launchers will be gone within a week.

The IDF and US militaries are not incompetent like their Russian equivalent.
I'm guessing the Americans are trying to destroy as much Iranian hardware as possible before they escort the ships.

It all reminds me of napoleon trying to take Moscow... the Russians just went and hid somewhere else and didn't come out until the French had gone. The iranians will just hide in the mountains and wait until America try to get oil out and more importantly food/water/goods in!

America needed a plan. Epic Fury should have been called epic failure.

The first wanted to sell oil in a currency other than dollar. That wouldn’t have done. So did Manduro.
Good point. I have read although don't know how true that if the brics countries started purchasing oil in a currency other than dollars this would seriously impact the American economy.

It would end it mate. It’s a Ponzi scheme.

They weren't removed because they were bad guys. Wake up. Just because the US get involved with one country that doesn't produce oil doesn't mean my point is invalid. And Assad wasn't assasinated. Neither was Maduro but he was kidnapped and Venuzueala produces oil. The US is not a moral force for good anymore than Britain was , or indeed China is. All countries operate out of self interest. What we are discussing on this thread to a large extent is how far it is acceptable to go in pursuit of that self interest.

Of course all countries act out of self interest. Iran’s desire for nukes was self interest. It’s been a long time since a country has made a sacrifice that wasn’t perhaps in its self interest- perhaps Britain declaring war on Germany and fighting on alone being the last but I dare say historians would argue that point of view as well.

The US rationale, or lack of it, will probably not be known by us mere mortals in our lifetimes - and they are a force of moral force for good - so long as your moral’s and definition of good aligns with theirs!!

Not sure of the source or accuracy of the post, but it wouldn't surprise me if true. Strategic planning not a strength of the Trump regime, to put it mildly.

We'll see.

Everything seems to have gone very quiet on the running out of missiles thing.

It seems like Iran is firing only a tiny amount compared to the first few days and I guess the US and Israel are getting on top of taking out the drones before they’re launched.

The media crackdown on this whole war has been incredible though. Obviously almost nothing coming out of Iran, blackouts in Israel, and the gulf states are not known for their transparency either.

They have 800,000 shahid drones. Can fit 20 into a lorry and move them anywhere totally concealed and can be deployed from the roadside.

One blew up the US Consulate in Dubai yesterday.
Not to sure where your book of Irans Military capabilities comes from but i think it’s got a few typos .

Well I agree with that - there is no plan, no real strategy and no end game for this war. The golden rule of any military operation as stated by Colin Powell. His rules are as follows;

Trump hasn't done any of this.
He is an incompetent arse at the wheel of a high performance racing car. To take the analogy further he will hit the pit wall sooner rather than later.

Makes you wonder why they don't just use drones? Apparently the drones are far cheaper and easier to make

I think defensive interceptors against drones is one of the big issues, fundamentally far more expensive than the drones. But cautious about drawing any strong conclusions on that - or anything else in the fog of war.
