If they have British passports there's nothing to stop them. If they want repatriation at the taxpayers expense they should be asked for a contribution.

Yep, I agree. Ideally people who emigrate should change passports to their "new" country. Presumably the emigrants don't want to live and pay taxes in the UK anymore but want the comfort blanket of being British. Lots of cakeism going on but really up to the government to change it.

Yes, that’s how it should work even though it’s never worked like that. But it should from now, because in this instance UAE residents don’t pay income tax. God forbid somebody wishes to live abroad for a few years - no passport from your birth country and decades of residence for those anymore.

All the transponders that let air traffic know they are there get turned off when they are that close to the border with Iran. They don’t want to give them any heads up they are inbound.

I imagine they do, but fog of war and all that, especially if there was a big drone attack ongoing. The US has a big airbase in Kuwait at Ali Al Salem, it also has some UK military based there alongside them.

I don’t think that’s confirmed at all, I’ve seen several attempts to confirm it as that debunked, but no definitive proof of who it belonged to.
