US Politics Thread

I think he genuinely is.

I think he would rather claim some sort of correctness in the nonsense he is spouting (he’ll find a way to say it support his anti-progressive beliefs and assertions in here) even if it means the end of what semblance of democracy exists in the US, UK, and elsewhere.

He doesn’t want the world to be a better place, he just wants to feel like his is powerful and respected, at almost any real world cost.

Sound familiar?

We can all see through him

I guess I’m just built differently. I don’t think that type of power is worth the humiliation and embarrassment.
That’s because humiliation and embarrassment have an impact on you, because you live a moral life.

When power…any power at all, at any cost at all…is the ONLY currency you understand, the humiliation and embarrassment are simply a low, and acceptable, cost of achieving your warped goals.

When you KNOW you are lying, and you know the people you are lying to know you are lying, but the cost is less than you earn, you FEEL like you’re coming out ahead!

Remember the good old days, when “your name” meant something? What has TRUMP done to that moral bar? Lyndsey Graham? MTG? Lauren Boebert? Rudy Giuliani?…

No, you fools!

By subjecting Trump to this silly attempt to indictment him when the bigger indictment could be had just shows they had not enough evidence to indictment over Jan 6th.

It will just lead to tit-for-tat when the GOP get back in the hot seat.

It's pathetic.
Huh, have they called off the other investigations and I haven’t heard of it?

LOL!!

If they claim they have Trump dead to rights asking for citizens to 'take over the senate', I'm pretty sure they'd have indicted him already.

Seems the easier, more obvious play, non?

But the more charges they try and throw at him later on, the more he'll grow in 'popularity' for people to vote for him.

You carry on, though...

You literally have no idea how jurisprudence, investigation, or the legal system works (even though I have tried to explain a small part of it in very simple terms)…

And you seemingly are proud of that ignorance.

Fools like us clearly don’t realise that the more serious and complex an allegation, the quicker it is possible and practical to indict. How can we be so stupid?
Yeah, some of the most high profile investigations in US history, involving existential threats to the very system in which it operates, focusing on an individual that quite literally tried to end what is left of representative democracy very publicly and regularly threatens death and destruction to his perceived enemies (which includes investigators), are pretty straightforward and don’t require much time, effort, money, or discretion.

The fact they can’t just use LegalZoom to bang out an indictment tells you they don’t have a case…

Are you serious??

You'd have thought that after Obama's reign which, objectively, was more successful than Biden's. The Dems know Biden's a weak offer as it is!

But you believe your Democratic utopia that the Republicans will never hold the seat again!

No

I’m just wondering what GOP’s will do better than the current administration

Stop funding for Ukraine and let Russia steam in ? Ban vaccines ? Arm teachers with Guns to ‘prevent’ more school shootings ?

What is the appeal with this batshit crazy party ?
