Trump's 2016 was a big surprise，an accident. That means it won't happen frequently. Especially after the event on January 6th. In 2020, almost all big media supported Biden at that time, and it will be the same in 2024, and this time the media has more materials to attack Trump. 0 chance for Trump.
 
The key to winning the 2024 election for the Democratic Party is stability, stability in American society, economy, military, and diplomacy. No drama. As long as everything works normally, no one will want Trump back.
Since the US economy is in a state of "no one can understand", the public will complain about the Biden government, and Trump's diehard fans will make some voices, which will make some polls appear to be "Trump leading". But don't worry, it's still early, there are still many campaign tools that haven't been used yet. As the election date approaches, these election tools will be used one by one, and neutral voters will join the pro Democratic team.
 
Trump's chance of winning is directly linked to how he gets on in court. He has 4 trials scheduled for next year any 1 of which could see him in jail ahead of the elections. Although assuming he spends the full year in court he could stretch it out so only 3 are concluded. So call it 3 shots at jail time. 2 are slam dunks, the docs case and the storm daniels case. The 2 Jan 6, election cases much more complex.

Assuming he gets through 3 trials and gets 3 not guilty verdicts, maybe 4, then that plays right into his hands and he possibly becomes favourite.

It will not be a normal campaign. Trump will be in court for weeks on end, maybe months. He will be paying huge legal fees but then he won't be able to do normal campaign stuff, and the trials are free publicity. Mostly bad but still free publicity.
