A good discussion of January 6th? Absolutely. Clearly, Im more in line with the Libertarian than I am with the Democrat having the discussion.

But even the Democrat woman made an obvious point - Most Americans have moved on from J-6th as a political issue.

"Trespassing, breaking windows, fighting with police... embarrassing because these are the things we expect from the left and Black Lives Matter..." but merely a narrative.

You could show that video in an academic course on "gaslighting".

You know what you saw. You heard the chants. You saw legislators hiding. You know what the declared aim was.

Couldn't decide if this belonged in the Harris or trump thread so posting here. A bit of a hatchet job by sky Australia.
My point is that while we often worry about interference and attempts to meddle in democracy by Russia, China, Cambridge analytica etc, the Australian multi billionaire media mogul almost flies under the radar. He's certainly had a firm grip on the outcome of any British elections for at least 4 decades.
I wonder if trump would even be a thing without Murdoch, AIPAC, Christian nut jobs, and the NRA?

No police officer died on January 6th. Many officers there that day mysteriously died later. Which is suspicious in of itself. But let's leave the conspiracy theories for another day.

1 woman was shot and killed by a cop. A cop the following day had a few cardiovascular event and passed away. A few others committed suicide.


Which is strange as hell that multiple cops are committing suicide after a riot.


Other people that died, protesters, died of hypertension, high blood pressure and other events.


But none of these facts matter.

In terms of violence, it was less deadly than Kenosha, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland etc And those were all deemed 'Mostly Peaceful". Strange that.

Anyhow, I guess like Sebastianblue said, let's ignore our lying eyes.

As a matter of fact that's not true. One of the well known claims about the organizers of the protest was that they requested and made sure to inform the protesters NOT to show up with their guns or weapons.

They did this because they knew the political elites were going to make scapegoats of them. There is a reason why there were NO GUNs ... ZERO found on any protestors. They all have guns... But didn't bring it just to avoid the appearance of being Insurrectionists.

As someone who grew up in a Country where Coups were normal and common, I can tell you, showing up without weapons is the Definition of "NOT a Coup."

Were some rioters terrible, obnoxious and despicable? Absolutely! But this is true of all protests. Hence why I generally hate protests and I support jailing rioters. Always have. Always will.

I guess you'd be happy if we all "protested" the same way at your place.

Ah! You must have missed where I supported the prosecution of all the protestors who rioted.

Funny how I never see any of you guys when I supported the prosecution of rioters when they are BLM types...

But here I am saying the same thing again. Prosecute the rioters!!!!

I guarantee not one of the Jan 6 apologists would be happy if an angry mob turned up at their front door (or even their workplace) and did a fraction of what happened in and around the capitol buildings on that day.

But hey, it was just a peaceful protest, right?
