I think she's just there for comedic effect, as is the canned laughter. It basically just highlights the utter stupidity of Trump's comments for the Gen Z folk.

He’s certainly the leader of the biggest cult since Mao but it’s not true to say half the country think he’s a good idea. He got 73 million votes in 2020 (around 30% of the electorate) and there’s no indication that number has increased and plenty of reasons to believe that far fewer would vote for him next time. Without him around to hold the cult together, it would turn into a large number of disparate factions all vying to be the heir to Trump but in reality would quickly become irrelevant whilst making a lot of noise and shooting a few people in the process.

Trump is a CAREER criminal. The fact that some won't change their mind on who 'won' the election, even if he's incarcerated for his crimes doesn't mean it shouldn't happen. IF the federal trials are allowed to be played out live on TV (and replayed at primetime) public opinion is likely to be swayed in a way akin to the Jan 6 congressional hearings did.

Only if and when Trump and his cohorts are dealt with effectively by the justice system can US politics start to shift back towards some semblance of normality.

This is game, set, match imo. Obstruction is a given at this point so now it comes down to timing. Hopefully the trial goes well into primary season and Igolf Twitler still gets the nomination. I expect social media chatter to blame part of this on his GQP opponents which means that the base won't turn out for them. Democrats are going to go medieval on their asses.

You can never really say 'game, set and match' with this guy. Many of us said it after the Access Hollywood tape came out, and then James Comey reopened the investigation into the Clinton email saga and he ended up President.

You certainly can't rely on the DoJ to prevent this abomination from ever being president again because once you fall into the trap of thinking he's done he will find a way to beat the system. He needs to be fought on all fronts
