I forgive her - quite easily.I'm not sure she'll be forgiven too easily.
A person's beliefs are, in most cases, identical to those of his or her parents'. It takes a long, long time, in my personal experience, to shed inherited beliefs.
Kudos to Liz - doubly so. She might easily have remained a careerist. Aligning herself with everything Trump would have been much better off for her political career. As it stands, she's very much at risk of losing reelection because she stood up against Trump and also because of her reasonable, centrist stance on issues such as same sex marriage.
