It was the app of choice for right wing Trump nutters after he was banned from Twitter. Although Trump never followed his own people on there, he instead promised to setup his own gig which he did with Truth Social.

The problem was he took far too long to get TS going and it was unworkable at first so it's never taken off. And Parler is just 1 or many social apps popular with nut jobs, see also 4chan.

What’s scary is that Trump coins a derogatory name and the media repeats it as if it’s his real name!

Such name-calling used to be derided. Now, it’s repeated, as if the media is “down” with the derision.

In other news far right Trump supporting One America News Network (OANN) has settled Smartmatic's defamation lawsuit by paying undisclosed, but surely substantial, damages for their relentless broadcasting of lies claiming the 2020 election was stolen.

OANN still face a defamation lawsuit from Dominion on the same subject.
