That’s only true for murder.

Whatever man. I know what I see on the news and read in the papers. As much as my kids want to go into the city to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller center this year, there's no way in hell we are going. I would not feel safe and I would not take the subway, for fear of someone coming behind me and pushing me onto the tracks of an oncoming train. Which is happening with alarming regularity.

That’s not true.
Crime is up since the pandemic but it’s way down when you look back further.

The suspected rapist is a homeless man who was arrested after using a credit card to buy 39 dollars worth of energy drinks.

America isn't exactly known for having great services for homeless or the mentally ill.

I once reported someone living in manhattan who was on my Instagram to mental health services because they were setting fires in their apartment and posting paranoid thoughts about other residents (via online, I obviously couldn't use my phone from the UK) and saw them live stream the police at their door.

Obviously someone with a chronic issue, but they were released within a few days.

Which party in the US, say over the past 6 years, has made your country a less safe place?

Is it the one inciting violence and attempted coups, or the one who has misplaced Hunter Biden’s laptop somewhere near Four Seasons Landscaping?

Avoid any red states if you are worried for your life.

What we’re seeing on Irish news from US political correspondents on all the major stations is that America is starting to get seriously scary.
Irish bar owner in Orlando interviewed saying that if things don’t de-escalate that they may get out of America altogether.

Militia in khaki and carrying guns at red state ballot centres.

The place seems fucked.

US fucked. UK fucked. Politics at the moment seems to be about the promotion of hate. That is fascism. That is Hitler. That is Mussolini That is scary.
Do we never learn from history.

Isn't this Republican's in a nutshell?

I don't care what the truth is, the news says crime is out of control so it must be true.
