Progressive is the most stupid term in politics.

what does it even mean?

It’s not an especially new term in American politics though the scope of what it covers today is different; it’s also associated now with only one of the main political parties.

Then why do only.those more left seem to be called it? in the US this is the term thankfully hasn't seeped into UK polotics properly yet.

all though things should be a norm for all democrats surely not just the more left wing ones, seems it is both used as an insult/slur as much as a positive term depending on wbo uses it.


Pluss all those thing mentioned are not being progressive, there being grown up, respectful, civilsed, you know normal the fact they have to be seen as progressive is a bad reflection on any society

Well isn’t it the definition of conservatism to look backwards and believe that things were better in the past for the most part? That by definition is regressive. But obviously they don’t want to be called that, because it’s a negative word. So they go for things like traditional. Obviously all political groups describe themselves with positive language.

conservatism was a french idea post revolution who wished for restoration, it has since been used mainly by the right as a name though what it means can differ depending on tje sociert youvare in and it's calues.

the main point is private ownership, and retaining and maintaining that societies institutions and traditional beliefs.

A conservative doesn't just look back and say all thing ls were better and plenty on the left are traditonalists too.

the term progressive right also exists, to me putting progressive in front of what you believe is just a nonsense.

From what I can see, Republicans aren’t doing as well as expected, Dem’s are breathing a sigh of relief and Donald Trump has been given a kick in the balls.

More or less. Polls showed many Americans are not happy with the country’s direction yet the opposing party did not see equivalent gains. The GOP only has Ohio and Florida to show for but outside of that it is a very lackluster outcome.

Democrats need to smell the coffee and appeal to young voters like the GOP does for older white voters. Abortion, Marijuana, student debts; when you do stuff for people they will vote for you! It’s not rocket science!

Watching the queues on NBC news, why does it seem so hard to vote in the US in terms of having to wait for hours?

One party doesn’t want people to vote and puts in loads of restrictions to discourage it.
