Hard to overstate how bad tonight has been for the Republicans 2024 campaign.

Trump, his endorsements and his proxies have been rejected all over the country. His likely running mate, Kari Lake is 50/50 to win her race. All of his gubernatorial endorsements have lost. All of the 2020 election denying gubernatorial candidates have lost.

De Santis has won convincingly and his (completely illegal) gerrymandering will be the reason Republicans win the house. He’s going to be their candidate.


There’s going to be a schism, and Trump is not going to go down without a very ugly fight. He was threatening De Santis yesterday, I don’t see him accepting losing a primary, he’ll likely still stand as an independent and split the vote.

Anything that splits the Republican vote between MAGAs and the rest is great news and gives some hope that maybe America isn’t fucked, even if the legislative agenda is largely stalled for the next two years by a narrowly won GOP House.

The NYT thinks you might die!

Given where they have results from so far, the NY Times thinks the remaining votes skew heavily towards Boebert.

Fingers crossed, we both get to do the dance of joy over her defeat, but….
