Just watched the Suranne Jones programme about witches and the persecution of women. They were talking about the removal of the right to abortion in America and one of the people the supreme court cited was one Matthew Hale. A 17th century British judge and barrister that was responsible for at least 2 women being hanged for witchcraft and had some very dubious views on rape. Unbelievable.

Lets be fair when you watch history progrs they always say many who went to america was because they were persecuted in europe for their religion.

mainly as they were the most extreme amd fucked up nutjob versions, vast areas of the US are built on religious lunacy

Yep, puritanicals. No dancing, over obsession with the human flesh, women no better than cattle. Not surprised they all went doolally.
Oh and the big book of witches was written by a Catholic monk who also had an over obsession with lady bits.

They didn’t go doolally, they metamorphosed into Evangelical Christians who want to recast America as a Christian country.

These guys don't exactly go heavy on the Sermon on the Mount or the Beatitudes. If Jesus came back tomorrow, they would call him a dangerous leftie/commie.
