That's a view. He makes a good point about how Trump could smack DeSantis, his former salivating lackey. But Trump is going to need a talented team, money, no more legal trouble (the news of it actually helps him, but ACTUAL trouble wouldn't), and a lot of luck. And even then, as I said before -- he's a known quantity now, not a hope. There's a reason only Grover Cleveland in near 250 years of history has been able to pull off what Trump is trying.
The GOP loonies seem to be going cold on him. Marge and Bobert both ducking questions on support for Trump. Almost like they have planned it. Trump needs fix and others on side, if Murdock is done with him then it could get ugly very soon.

Anyone potentially involved in 1/6 needs to be careful about their public support for him, because they’re going to want to/have to point the finger up at him if they get charged. Already Barr and Pence have done it. And of course griftidiots don’t want to be locked into any position either since they aren’t sure which way the winds are blowing. That alone should raise an objection to the “Trump is a lock” argument.

You are missing that before Trump had no track record of fucking shit up. No. Wait. He did. He fucked everything he tried up. He just hadn’t fucked up the Republican Party yet. He hadn’t fucked up the presidency yet. So one could believe in “change”, that a “business man” who “says what he thinks” and “solves problems” who is “not a politician” could have success in the role.

But now he has fucked them up. He fucked up the party and fucked up the presidency.

That’s the difference. Not all people are just going to forget and ignore that. Plenty will, but I’d guess more won’t.
Your argument is well thought out and sane. The problem is that more than half of the GQP's base live in a totally different reality. They don't think he fucked up the presidency, they think he's the greatest leader in the history of the world. They don't think he fucked up the republican party either, they think he got rid of the rinos who were really deep state operatives who had a power sharing agreement with the Democrats because they all are a bunch of pedos who eat babies and worship satan. Remember they turned on McCain, Romney, Bush, Cheney and anybody else who ever doubted dear leader. As far as I can tell the hierarchy of the GQP is:

1. Dear leader
2. Don Jr
3. Eric
4. Flynn
5. My Pillow Guy
6. Klan Mom
7. Kari Lake (who I think he is going to choose as VP)

Good call on Lake.

i think you have Eric too high and “Klan Mom” (LOL) too low!

Also think Lake is a good shout too.

However, if the majority of The Cult is really that dumb, then DeSantis won’t spend a dime to get his own campaign off the ground, and because he isn’t as dumb as they are, will fold like a cheap suit very shortly, pledge fealty to Trump publicly, and do all he can to support him, because it’s better for DeSantis.

Remember — “they” turned on all of those old school GOPers because Trump did. Trump has already turned on DeSantis. I wonder whether “they” will also.

His parents were my godparents. I called his folks Godmother and Godfather. Wonderful people — she was a nurse and he was an engineer who worked on early space program rockets and later what he called “classified military stuff.” I’ve always been very close with their five kids :).
Did you literally call them ‘godmother/father’?

Did you literally call them ‘godmother/father’?
I did, yes, but just me -- my brother and sister called them Uncle Tommy and Aunt Mary since they had different godparents. Not sure if it's convention there -- we grew up calling my parents' very good friends "Uncle" and "Aunt" instead of Mr. and Mrs. But any of my Dad's work associates we always Mr. or Mrs. A few of my Dad's good friends made us call them by their first names with no Mr. or "Uncle". We always thought those were my Dad's "coolest" friends because they dispensed with titles :)

They've both passed away now (my godparents, not my bro and sis).
