Shame.
I hate these click on things to read. A mature read of that article or whatever its called gives nothing beyond the headline. No new information that isnt already known, at all. This is why newspapers, and real journalists, are so important. Unfortunately they these days get called MSM, as if that is a bad thing. Surely that thing I just clicked and read must therefore be called Second Stream Media. Or Regurtigated Media

Meantime, US is sitting on more job openings than ever before in history. I’ve been traveling for work the last few months after nothing for 15 months and EVERY hotel I’ve stayed in is short-staffed, many restaurants, a good number of retail stores — and that’s just service workers; all of the building material manufacturers I work with (20 of 20) are short factory workers and especially transport/logistics folks. It’s extraordinary. I worry some about a wage-price spiral but if you’re looking for a paycheck or better pay you’ll never find a better environment, even independent of qualifications or experience. Not sure if it’s the same in Europe but never seen anything like it here.
Was out in Florida a few months back. Everywhere was hiring.

4 million potential evictees from their homes under the Dem 'leadership' and Guiliani dominates the discussion!

Is it any wonder why conversation is stunted in here?!

It seems from that report that the Supreme Court have the final say here and the states have been slow to distribute funds that were made available. It is by the looks of things a bit of a fuck up.

None of which makes Guiliani getting what he deserves any less newsworthy

Sounds like here mate. The fucktards that voted to keep non white british people out are now realising that we could actually do with some help.

It's that bloody Trump's fault!!

What, he's not in office to blame...??

Angry grifting Americans blaming Democrats!

And the MSM sez 'wut?'?!

Nobody cares, focus the cams on Matt Gaetz...

I didn't watch all that. Did they mention the eviction moratorium was unconstitutional?

I did think, if Bigga was upset there would be more to it.

Here's some of the argument against the moratorium. Read in the context of the amount of unfilled jobs. (And that half the population is in states will still have a moratorium?)

Democratic leaders used the time to ratchet up pressure on the Biden administration to extend a lawless measure and to sharpen rhetoric that they hoped would extort the justices into, yet again, looking the other way.

Speaker Pelosi and Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer did not push a legislative fix because they didn’t have the votes. Their majorities are razor-thin. While their members in non-woke districts (most of the country) don’t want to talk about it aloud, the moratorium is a terrible policy that is bankrupting small real-estate owners while discouraging renters from seeking work since they’re not making payments.

The only arguable good that could come out of this mess is the disbursal of the aid funds. That hasn’t been happening, partially because of the usual government mismanagement, but largely because the moratorium put delinquent renters in no great hurry to apply for the funds to pay rent arears. That would enable the owners to pay their mounting mortgage and other obligations, while nudging the renters to shake off the pandemic-emergency doldrums and reset to normal life, in which gainfully employed people timely pay their rent.

Such a reset could be set in motion only by ending the moratorium, thus riveting the attention of the bureaucrats and altering the incentives of the renters.

Greatest country in the world!

It's as though they lived in a parallel universe of actual reality:
Supermarkets - Food is just magically made in a factory by robots, rather than picked by hand in fields.
Health service - Never thought why 1+ in 3 worker 's were non-white/non UK
Coffee shops/Bars - Strange how the server's English accents were generally European.
Cross-Channel freight - Magically arrived by teleport.

Basically many of the people many don't 'see', but without which the UK, starts seizing up.

Exactly.

If proven Chris' integrity as a news anchor is blown.
I certainly think he's tried to get ahead of the narrative on a number of occasions, but he would have had to get that past CNN editorial before it went on air. Not just CC in the frame for this, although he'll probably end up taking most of the blame if it turns out to be true.

I can see CNN sending him on gardening leave should a civil case take place. I'd be interested to see of he uses his editorial segment to defend himself if he's on tonight.

I'm sure he'll try and front it out.

What I do find amazing is the huge lack of irony from all the Republican Twitter accounts calling for Cuomo to resign for 'murdering' all those old folk in the nursing homes and sexually harassing all those women.

They just don't get it.

Hypocrisy and horrible behavio(u)r from persons in prominence regardless of party is to be expected. It’s been that way for ages.

But they don’t not get it. They are looking for a victory — any victory. The base cares about one thing only: owning the libs. It’s not even about improving themselves or their lives. They’ll look stupid to own the libs. They’ll engage in cognitive dissonance a seven-year old wouldn’t to own the libs. They’ll forsake family and friends to own the libs. They’ll die to own the libs. Witness the anti-vaxxers.

I don't disagree with the majority of your response, but I will pick up a teeny part that renders your post somewhat rocky.

If I lived in your house, paying rent and the rent stops, why would you as a "delinquent renter" apply for funding to pay rent arrears and not just ride out the wave, kick out the payee and just up the rent with new tenants?

That's on the Gov to keep their eye on the situation and didn't until the day before.

What a real shit show.

Shit sticking to his brother Chris as well. Allegations he's been trying to frame Andrew's issues in the media for him.

Wait, noooo, mat.

Andrew Cuomo is "a real leader", "a good guy", "a great guy", such as MANY on here spouted in the pandemic early heights.

This is also the guy that Biden's DOJ has dropped all charges against for the OAP Covid deaths. They won't charge him (not can't charge him) as many other Governors followed his 'leadership' which means Biden would have to sack a whole heap of people and there'd be a whole heap of lawsuits.

Shocking how much people will bend over and blind themselves with almost irrelevant stories on here when there's a storm brewing just below the surface.

Yep many on here saw Cuomo as a good guy during the height of the pandemic, responding in real time to the information available and to be fair the way he conducted and carried himself in comparison to Trump, it’s inescapable.

It seems a bit disingenuous of you to link the DOJs not continuing to investigate him to Biden and especially to say that charges have been dropped, only to contradict yourself immediately by acknowledging no charges have actually been made.

Cuomo’s attitudes and behaviours towards women is hardly an irrelevant story, I’m surprised you would think otherwise, and you can already see a shift in attitude on this thread towards him on this thread.

He may not be out of the woods in terms of how the pandemic was handled in respect of care homes but it seems that Trump’s DOJ’s investigation was also politically motivated. I’m sure the story has legs yet.

It is shocking though how people will bend over backwards to shoehorn Biden into anything they can to damn by association in their continued quest to prove he isn’t a good guy
