What are your views on gun laws then? It seems to me that you're in favor of open carry of assault rifles. But I may be wrong.
What then is your stance?
My views on gun laws are not simplistic. And they are heavily dependent on reality.
In a vacuum, I'd want a society with no guns. Not the Citizens, Not the Police, no one. Not even for hunting. I find the whole practice of hunting barbaric.
But I chose to come live in a country where about 50% believe in their rights to own guns. And where guns are plentiful.
And where the arguments for banning the ownership of those guns are neither easy nor simple.
I'm not generally inclined to making utopian arguments about what ought or ought not to be. Rather, I find what's feasible and not feasible in light of the real circumstances on the ground a much more worthwhile discussion.
Hence why I generally sidestep the seemingly virtue signaling discussions about gun laws.
As for your 2nd question:
I'd rather an open carry law, than a concealed carry law. So there is that.
But on a side note, and a big reason why I often don't engage in this discussion is because I find too many who talk about it know too little about the laws, the guns, and the data as it relates to policy.
So often, it just boils down to virtue signaling about how much more civilized we are than these Neanderthal gun totting Americans.
Which you know, I'm cool with that. Feel superior if you must. More power to yer. :)
