US Politics Thread

I hadn't looked at what was going on in the hearings for a couple of days, so I thought I'd catch up. Glad I didn't miss much.

You have to say, the movie isn't going to need much by way of artistic license and additional script writers, just cut and paste from the transcripts and a title...hopefully something like White House Clown Down?

But on the plus side for Donald, Liz Cheney's hair is apparently shit so none of this is legitimate.

Didn't miss anything?

I listened to yesterdays hearing live and there were a number of revelations that made me swear out loud.

They overlook the fact that plenty of Trump's inner circle had the opportunity to testify and *cough* 'set the record straight' but instead took the 5th or ignored the subpoenas requiring their presence at the commission. They were probably concentrating on fretting about their requests for pre-emptive blanket pardons that Trump ignored.

Reminds me much like the entire series of Days of our Lives , same script with the odd change of face.

You will stay glad for a very ling time.

I can see Betty White making her long awaited comeback to play Pelosi.

The problem with someone who has been pardoned from Trump's perspective is that the pardon itself removes the 5th Amendment as an option.

This might explain where the committee were heading with their 'witness tampering' teaser that they trailed at the end of yesterdays hearing.

Sorry, was being sarcastic should have been a bit clearer on that :-)

When I got round to listening, like you I was slacked jawed at what I was hearing. I probably shouldn't have been surprised but hearing it all out loud was indeed a 'kin hell moment.

Big one for me was when I heard Trump grabbed the wheel of the Presidential Limo and tried to assault his Secret Service detail.
