Christ on a bike!
Is that indicative of many districts?
Surely not in the greatest democracy in the universe.

Watch the video!

Look at the way they created a long, skinny district! Austin is considered a DEMOCRATIC city, with “Keep Austin Weird” as their slogan. However, they ensure they keep all the Dems in one district so they don’t dilute the 4 Republican districts!!

There are Doctoral theses written on this bullshit, but if you own the COURTS, you own the VOTE…as we have seen with Trump!

I’m semi retired and work in the courts over here. I am known to say to juries that working in the courts has cemented my trust or belief in the integrity and impartiality and equity of the Irish judicial system.
Having seen it, I believe in it.

What I see in the American judiciary, from afar admittedly, is that it is too politically influenced.
Am I wrong?
It just seems counterintuitive to me.
Politics should be separate from the justice system like religion should be separate to the political system.

From School boards all the way up to the Supreme Court and everything in between. All political appointments, and it's all based around money and funding. Wide open to corruption, and exploited to the max.

You are not wrong.

Many Judges TRY to look non-partisan while others fully embrace it.

There are two views of “justice” in America and they don’t dance together very well. However, of greatest importance is the fact that politicians want the courts to see their vision of the law…and have the power to effectuate it!

Companies and individuals, depending on the issue, literally “shop” their cases to the court of their choice. Texas is very popular with Republicans and California is very popular with Democrats. SCOTUS gets to make the final decision on cases they choose, if one party wants to push it that far!

Justice for sale!
Justice for sale!
Roll up, Roll up!
Justice for sale!

It’s not what goes into your head you should worry about :)

I definitely live in my own private Idaho however it is the most welcoming place you’ll ever visit. Just a bit of dry bumming …..
