US Politics Thread

lol.

They’re all the fucking same ;-)
The American people have clearly expressed, with a majority vote, that the law should at best be treated as a minor inconvenience rather than the foundation of a functioning democracy. If that wasn’t true they wouldn’t have voted in a convicted felon.
Whilst it’s clearly wrong and nepotism at its worst, Biden’s only doing what the majority of the American people think is perfectly acceptable, and any outrage by people who voted or support this shit is hypocrisy at its finest.

8/10 good solid effort that

Not the mental gymnastics I was hoping for. I'll give you a 5/10 for that because you were more or less impartial. As soon as I saw the opening words 'both sides' I knew you were in trouble.
Try again, but bear in mind the simple rule trump bad, biden good.
Not really sure what you’re expecting.
Both look pretty bad to me., as choices in a fixed system.
I’ve made my views pretty clear of what I think of Trump as a person.
I don’t hold America up as a beacon of virtue. I think they have become accustomed to a corrupt system that preaches, money is power.

That’s the same from both sides.
I have a particular distaste for and fear of what is coming however with the Bible thumping, God decreed it, crowd being pandered to.

Fascist Christian is no different to militant Muslim or Genocidal Zionists in my estimation.
They are all dangerous to the whole world.

Is the US more religious than other countries? Here in the UK, Christianity is dwindling and I do wonder if a minority are leading countries down a road that they don’t want to go down?

Reading this thread, the US people seem to have gone a little crazy.

It's the same here, in France and everywhere else. There are people who now treat politics as a sport. Your guy is a paragon of virtue who is persecuted by the corrupt system. Their guy is simultaneously a mastermind conspirator and a blithering idiot who would sell their own mother and is guilty of perpetuating the destruction of the country.

These people are impossible to have any type of rational conversation with and exist in echo chambers to all wank over the latest development in the drama like they're watching a reality TV show. They are also so far gone that they don't even realise that they're gone and instead see everybody else as "the enemy". It's tedious but luckily, these people might be the loudest but if you actually go and canvas then they're also the minority by a distance in this country at least. Presumably in the US too. People/populations are much more rational than internet forums and social media make them seem.

I'm looking forward to the more accomplished mental gymnasts on here justifying bidens actions while cheering on politically motivated 'lawfare' when it's applied to people they don't like. West dids comfortably in the lead at the moment, but some of our US friends are probably in bed until this afternoon (UK time).
The actions aren’t justifiable.

The difference is the number of posters this action brings out of the woodwork relative to when Trump will do/has done.

Also I don’t really like criminals so I don’t vote for them.

Yes. I was in the deep south over the summer and they are batshit crazy for racist gun Jesus, he's their boy.

Well put. It's the 5% at each end of the scale that make the most noise and the other 90% that vote quietly for what they see as best.
