It's worth noting that Sen. Johnson was one of the gang of 8 Republican politicians that went to Russia in 2018 on the 4th of July.

The latest Pew Research Center survey results about Trump's approval:

There's no new news in the survey results: the survey was conducted between April 7 to April 13 and the news outlets I watch have mostly covered this data.

Two findings from the survey that surprised me are:
1)
"The GOP is viewed more favorably than the Democratic Party, a shift from recent years."
2)
"Seven-in-ten or more Republicans and Republican-leaning independents approve of:

Trump’s job performance (75%)
The administration’s cuts to government (78%)
Increased tariffs (70%)
Ending diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies in the federal government (78%)"

Given the turmoil that Trump and the GOP have created, it puzzles me that the GOP is still viewed more favorably than the Democratic Party with 43% of Americans having a favorable view of the GOP and 38% of Americans having a favorable view of the Democratic Party.

Also puzzling to me is that increased tariffs are supported by 70% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents. The full effects of Trump's tariffs haven't yet materialized and the tariffs are relatively new - so perhaps the 70% approval will decline as time goes on. On the other hand, Trump seems to be backing away from tariffs so this statistic may be largely moot in a month or two.

People are blaming the Dems for not being introspective enough about how they allowed Trump to lie his way to victory.
