She's no more left than Tony Blair ever was.
She’s not Tory lite like Blair, more centre left in our labour terms. Her party is just not radical enough ever to change America.
I watched the tour she did with Bernie S. The voters flocked in enormous numbers to see them. A few more like them are needed.
When she first burst on the scene, I read her personal manifesto. It was totally unobjectionable to a traditional labor mind in this country but some in the US went apeshit over her.

US has published its new National Security strategy.

As you'd expect, it's completely bonkers and borderline fascist, requiring in the US "growing numbers of strong, traditional families that raise healthy children."

But of note it explicitly makes it clear than European democracies are the enemy of the US and they plan to undermine us by supporting the far right.

Support for the AfD etc al:

"America encourages its political allies in Europe to promote this revival of spirit, and the growing influence of patriotic European parties indeed gives cause for great optimism."

The US will be..

"Cultivating resistance to Europe’s current trajectory within European nations"

They're not pretending any more: they are our enemy.

Given the huge economic, linguistic and social ties between the UK and the US, and given the direction this is all inevitably heading, it will be fascinating and somewhat terrifying to see how this uncoupling manifests itself.
