Twatter is a cesspit at the best of times but my word what is going to go down on there in the coming months?

Trump will have more power now with both the senate and the house being Republican.
And the Supreme Court too. He can control and shape absolutely anything he wants. Those Senators and Congress folk will bend the knee like never before

Frightening times, But this is what the American folk have voted for.

Lots of glib bullshit being posted, but I can tell that every woman I know is aghast at the Handmaid’s Tale future they face, and the white men are thinking “Oh great! Everyone’s going to be looking at me like I did this!”

As someone who flies overseas for a living, mainly to Europe, I’m fucking embarrassed to be associated with the tens of millions of uneducated and confused white males who elected this empty fuck.
A product of your own making unfortunately.

Historically the uneducated male, black and white, worked in lumbering factories but a lack of control in foreign imports led to millions of job loses creating a confused and jobless society. A society that refuses to look after their poor. A society that forces women into draconian measures. A society that charges for health care leading to debt or a sick workforce. A society that frowns on people taking their full allocation of holidays. A society that, although values the American dream, has seen successive governments rip it apart.

In their eyes, Trump was their saviour in his first stint. They mistrust the government that came in after. They think he's been hounded by the courts. He's the little guy fighting the mainstream. That's his rhetoric and it struck a chord the first time out and it's doing it again.

America is not the land of the free. It is a land beset by rules and regulations, taxes and worst of all, God.

Don't get me wrong, I love visiting America. I love the different states. I love the rural and big city life. I love the people for the most part. Some of my happiest times have been spent in the States. But a lot of people live in a bubble. A bubble of their governments making. And Trump is seen as a way of bursting it.

I think blaming the Dems misses the point.

Americans have looked at a fascist bully and liked what they've seen. Better to face that reality than cast around for blame.

Of course you can blame the democrats. They have been the ones pushing policies which, it seems, are unpopular with a majority of the electorate. You can applaud their morality, but he amazed at the naivety.

Chin up, mate. The sun will shine again.

Out of Trump's arse unfortunately.

Luckily the institutions and the constitution are strong enough to deal with it. Apparently.
