US Presidential Election, Nov 5th 2024

My company uses a high percentage of foreign labour, and if we didnt there wouldn't be a company.

We pay above minimum wage, there are plenty of opportunities for progression, it's tough work and we couldn't get enough Brits to fill all the jobs if we tried.

People have an opinion of foreign labour that doesn't match up with reality.
Totally agree. I used to run warehouses for DHL, most of the workforce we used were foreign. Tried recruiting in the local job centres etc etc but for the most part people didn't want shift work or do the manual lifting. Sure, there were some that did, but we had a never ending supply of UK workers that turned up, lasted a few days, and then buggered off.

I live in that part of the world, the economy has slowed down but the infrastructure put in place is incredible.

Just look at the car industry, the cars they are putting out are simply mind blowing compared to even a couple of years ago, and the quality of them is improving enormously.

Don't dismiss the Chinese.
Do you know CFG's Shenzhen Peng City?
Next season the team will move to a new stadium, new home field!

There is no doubting that but you have to look to the future and consider debt, for example. Infrastructure does not earn anything if you can’t use it. There was an attempt recently to boost Bank borrowing but it is too early to gauge its effectiveness. The fact that all recent policy has been aimed at stimulating the economy is a clue as to its current resilience or rather lack of it. Companies are showing a marked reluctance to borrow.
