US Presidential Election, Nov 5th 2024

Young american boys and girls who are living in Europe are incredibly educated.

All of them. Democrats or republicans or apolitical. From Texas or from New York.

Calm, interested in local culture, respectful, mature...

Being interested in politics is a sign of intelligence.

I have a theory that they are youngs guys whose parents are economically middle class or upper class and that is why they have the opportunity to live a year or two in Europe. It is impossible for ALL young Americans to be like this.

20 years ago when I was young, I saw the difference between an American girl and a Spanish girl.

American girls very educated, fascinated by the European world and for the local culture where they were living, capable of feeling INTELLECTUAL ATTRACTION FOR A MAN...

Spanish girls don't give a shit cultures or policy, just giving drama and being attracted for "garrulos" (garrulo = Sergio Ramos, Wayne Rooney, Eminem... you understand the concept).

The stereotype that Americans are uneducated is ABSOLUTELY FALSE.
Many are book smart, but when it comes to politics they simply refuse to be objective. I work with several college educated engineering types who are properly clever, but when it comes to their politics they simply don't care to see the big picture. It's black and white, straight down the line Trump supporters

The majority of female trump voters wouldn't be able to pick E Jean Carroll or Stormy Danies out in a line up. They've probably heard the names, but don't understand the context because they get all their 'news' from Fox or Newsmax.

I don't think so, the content of article from Fox News is pretty damning and surelly will not get vote from female voters in election. Yet it didn't budge female voters to vote for him.

Because he successfully built the narrative that he isn't the establishment and any of these convictions or charges are the deep state trying to stop him from gaining power and fixing America.

Not only that if you idolize someone you have no problem looking past their crimes or excusing them.

I suppose it's deeper and more personal for me.

Fair enough. I don't deny having been called that many times before.

facilitating hatred? How so? Do you mind expanding on that a bit.

He's a hate monger, if you vote for him it's a facilitation of that hate mongering whether intentional or not.

Do you want me to list the times he's stood on public platforms and actively encouraged the othering of minorities, vulnerable people, perceived enemies etc? We could be here a while.

At a slightly more scientific level, he's a populist and there's now a body of research that shows the relationship between populism and hate. Populism has typically been studied from the supply side rather than demand side as it were; but researchers have taken to looking at the relationships i.e whether hate filled people simply seek out and drive populists forwards or whether being exposed to populism increases the levels of hatefulness people experience. It transpires that exposure to populism increases the levels of hatred people experience rather than hate begetting the popularism. This is bad at one level as it means levels of hatred within the population can be increased by populist behaviour but good at another level in that the rise in populism at any given point doesn't suggest an inherently more hateful population at that time. It's also been shown that you can reverse those levels of hatred in the majority of people (i.e those that don't suffer from underlying personality disorders). However that's not cheap to do, so much better to not let people sow hatred in the first place for both the obvious and less obvious reasons.

Nobody is objective with politics.

And is not just book smart.

I'm talking about being educated people, who ABIDE BY THE RULES, who respect others, who behave with maturity... today the majority of young people in Europe are not like that.

I am dedicated to the world of security. If you give an instruction:

- With Italian boys "and why? and why? why why?? Nothing will happen if I don't do what you say."

- With Spaniards: "Yes, ok" (they ignore you, and you insist).

"Now now. Wait a minute. Because 'I'm waiting for my friend,' 'any excuse.'

Soon it will be "you are nobody! Don't touch me, don't touch me!".

- American boys "ok, yes. Thank you so much".

This doesn't fall from the sky. This is the work of the parents of those American kids.

In Mediterranean culture, young children are very spoiled. They do what they want. Parents do not discipline children.

You will never see American children bothering everyone in a restaurant while their parents watch quietly from their table. In the Spanish case you will ALWAYS see that.

Yet why Democrat with them having the biggest donations and almost traditional big media sides with them can't destroy this trump narrative?

Why the Democrat suck to prevent Trump rise to become President again?

Such a contrast. Obama, Sanders, other prominent Democrats congratulating Trump and hoping for unity.

Trumps mob, Elon, Don Jr etc encouraging you to laugh at and mock people who voted Democrat.

Its going to be a fucking awful 4 years for our American friends.

Ironic then, that on these threads it has been the other way around for six months: democrats openly laughing at and mocking people who were going to vote republican, and now not congratulating the few Trump supporters on here on their win.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is a poor result for America, which is none of my business really, and for the world as a whole, which is more to my interest. But I can't help thinking the attitude shown on here is a part of the problem for the democrats more widely and a dose of karma is, in a perverse way, mildly amusing.

Edit: Now I think about it, it's scouse karma - karma-la :)

Because it's coming from the traditional media is exactly the reason why they can't destroy the Trump narrative. Times have moved on there is serious distrust in the conventional media and Trump has been the first to really use that to his advantage.

The Democrats sucked because they fought an election like it was still pre internet amongst the many other issues already discussed a million times over in here.
