US Presidential Election, Nov 5th 2024

I couldn’t hit the ignore button fast enough. A few other know-naughts are creeping that direction too.

Just what we needed — a match day thread for the election. Oh joy.
If you put everyone on ignore who says trump is good/winning or whatever else annoys you it will certainly improve your enjoyment of the thread.

You have to love NBC’s commitment to data accuracy.

The dynamic of this is thread is very interesting.

You’ve got a small contingent of us that have been intently following, analysing, discussing, and debating this election for months (even years) in the other US politics threads (that are currently locked). Most with skin in the game as either Americans or, like me, non-Americans that live in the US (and have American children).

You have others—probably most participants—that are just interested in the election on the day and aren’t looking to make any predictions or bold assertions about the why or how or what of the election, they just want to follow along.

Then you have a contingent of posters that were rarely, if ever, seen in the US politics threads, going full Wolf Blitzer, sharing dubious claims, making ignorant but exceedingly confident proclamations, and generally wanting to appear as experts on the subject they have just now decided to care about for the day.

This really is the match thread for the Election.
As I've said before, this is a UK based football forum. I wouldn't go on a maga/democrat forum and expect (or feel entitled to) intelligent debate about city.

The adverts on American TV are wild.

Happy families and feel good music while they go on about health insurance and selling drugs.

The NHS is a load of shite but I prefer it to this.

The problem is or the fact is, what happens in the states directly effects the world it's the only super power in a way it would be good if the whole world actually voted because it effects us just as much

Trumps already on it.

Loads of state cases already in the system. So much that one state official is taking it to the supreme court to get them struck off for wasting legal resources.
If any of those cases are lost “with prejudice” Trumps lawyers will be faced with a large bill and, possibly, disbarment. Habba was ‘fined’ a million dollars in a previous case.
