It still shocks me how many people

Distorted, warped prism of this forum. Out of towners, I would guess.

Unbelievable.

No just in general, like I say the some fans are the negative moaners at the ground instead of moaning fans should sing come on city

We always had moaners at the ground, and always will have, and contrary to popular belief, that's not just a city thing, that's just human nature. You will never make everyone happy,no matter how well we are doing. Some people just like whinging lol.
This is true. The thing is, during the Pearce days for example they had justification but nowadays with the best squad in living memory, top of the league and having won the first trophy for 35 years there is very little justification. Sometimes it verges on the embarrassing.

Yes i can understand that, but it can also work the other way,now with everyone's expectations raised, they just think we should be rolling teams over with ease.It doesn't work that way,and after a blistering start to the season,we seem to have run out of a bit of steam,it was inevitable this would happen,we couldn't maintain the kind of pace we set for a full season, and today was one of those typical games, like the Sunderland one last season, when we we're mugged.

You don't become a bad team overnight though, and i think we'll come through this Month with some very big wins to move the club forward. If anyone does whinge all the time near where you sit, just remind them of where we we're 4-5 seasons ago,and where we are now.

The long term supporters of the club will show a lot of patience , we have waited decades for times like these ,where as the "new fan" is less patient , they have latched on to the club because of the world class players now at the club. Not a criticism of the "new fans" if they get behind the team all are welcome , just two totally different mentalities ,and i am prepared to wait at least another 48 hrs for our next victory!

It's only natural that there will be raised expectations but sometimes it feels as if people are moaning for the sake of moaning.

I view City through being Mancunian and attending games. I still think too many people piss and moan for the sake of pissing and moaning.

To be fair, I moaned like fuck when Les Hughes was in charge too. It was like watching Stephen Hawkings violently rape Natalie Portman: offensive, unsightly, pathetic and yielded few results of any worth.

Today following our defeat I had a very interesting conversation with a United fan, first of all it was the usual wind up shit of your going to lose again, watch united go and you haven't got the balls for the top of the table.

Then he said something that took me by surprise.

''City won’t win the league not because of the players or the manager but because of the fans''

The reason he said what he said was because he and other reds who he talks with believe that the people who follow city love nothing more than nurturing misery, in fact we enjoy nothing more than moaning about players, the way we had played and basically we revel in it and that the players will pick up this if our home form dips.

We then chewed the fat and argued our points of view, after that I just dispelled it as nothing more than the fear factor hitting home but then I started to think about it.

Now I sit in block 304 and there are several folk around me that love nothing more than to moan about Dzeko and Yaya in fact they wait for their first mistake and they are on their soap boxes shouting the odds.

Today blue moon is in meltdown some fans have said players are wank, are not fit to wear the shirt and the manager keeps making mistakes yet we are top of the league so why are we really moaning. (19 games 45 points and 53 goals)

I have just watched MOD2 and how we did not win is still a mystery but as someone said earlier it is pantomime season.

So are we really fans who just like to moan who love nothing more than a half empty glass, who don’t really want success or are we going to get behind the team.

If Dzeko was at any other club in the premiership he would be banging the goals in and the transfer forum would be alight with we should buy him, now this isn’t about Dzeko it’s about us as fans. We manage to single out players and berate them to a point where we kill them off (edgehill) went from England prospect to nervous wreck.

Let’s not wreck our season let’s get behind them, slag players off when they are gone, not wearing the shirt. They maybe reading Bluemoon
Great post! I believe that teams need positive energy which is there when the team is winning but as soon as they start stuttering, the pendulum swings too far the other way and can wreck a season, player, or anyone else. I"m sure Dzeko, Toure and others have heard the negative things that some fans shout. For those that think those things don't matter, keep in mind that they are human beings not robots and things do affect them.

I believe in self-fulfilling prophecies. Positive energy brings success..The entire organization including the fans must first truly believe that they WILL win the title or else they won't be able to overcome adversity.

We should consider that City got a break that United lost and still basically control their own destiny if they take care of business going forward. Constructive criticism is OK, but calling out players and the manager after one loss is disgusting.
