Using City's History

The history section is a fantastic database and a great source of info for all things City. I was browsing the history section the other day and noticed the 50 greatest players may be in need of an update. Not a criticism because I know Ric is a busy little beaver, just an observation.

That's probably the most controversial part of the entire Bluemoon main site.

Once I'd posted it I thought "shit, I might have opened a can of worms here"

Think you have a point Gary because I'm a history and a stats man and I still use MCFC Stats rather than the history section of Bluemoon. I just forget it's there because I always come straight to the forum which I have bookmarked. I never look at anything on the main site.

I've found it really useful on several occasions. Usually when I remember some obscure game from the past and I can't quite remember who scored or who we were playing. You know those annoying niggly questions that would normally haunt you for years.

Really is a great resource, thanks to all the collaborators who helped make this happen.

Thanks for pointing me to the History section of Bluemoon Gary. I didn't know it was so good.

I got Ray Goble's Manchester City The Complete Record as soon as it came out in 1987. My dad and I are on the first page of the list of subscribers. At the time, with no internet, it was a godsend.

My copy is quite tatty now. I still consult it several times a week.

Glad you gave Steve Kay a mention, Gary. He used to drive us mad with his stats, but I often think of him, wondering what he would make of it now if he was still with us. He was truly a lovely bloke and I think if his hard work could somehow be continued or included elsewhere it would be a terrific testimony to him. I think he'd have liked that. RIP Steve. x

I love the section because I have been a Blue since the early fifties thus I have many memories. Over time though something crops up and I am sure I know the answer but looking through the stats I realise that various items I was convinced I remember are perhaps not kosher.
Keep up the good work (ruining an old un's reminiscences).
