I don't think there was anything "freak" about ours, even my missus said we'd get them away, and whilst a blue, she's not blinkered like me.

To be fair, people say it every time we're both in a cup draw together - just because it's the draw we want to avoid. Rarely happens though.

just because it's the draw we want to avoid
Reading on here, some delight at drawing them, though I've absolutely no idea why. If we never played them again, it wouldn't bother me personally.

On this occasion, given the Mourinho v Pep hype around the time of the draw, it was all just a bit too convenient, especially this early in the competition/season.

Not sure our owners are as obsessed with the scum as previous owners like Swales and company , we have nothing to prove to the shite we have been the dominant force in Manchester and the preieir league for the last 5 or more seasons our next step is european success. Although the supporters want to smash these c*nts tomorrow night , Pep and company will be thinking 3 pts at WBA and a win against Barca are far more important than playing a full strength side against a 7th place bunch of dreamers and their 659m plastic fans, who now see the Rumbelows cup as their holy grail.

Gives us a chance to put another nail in the coffin.

We'll see, it would be a very popular win for them tomorrow, so I suspect they'll get as much help as is absolutely possible (lets face it they probably do need some), and while none of us like him mourinho badly needs a good result, and this is a bit of free hit. I'm not expecting much, its fair to say.

As I said earlier, I'm not normally one for conspiracies, but as soon as I heard the draw, I thought "fix". In fact I thought the draw as a whole looked very, shall we say, convenient, and not just our game, get rid of the most PL teams you can, while keeping the most EFL teams you can, it'll be the same next round too I expect.
When you say EFL teams, if no Premier league teams are wanted in final rounds surly Bristol city v reading final not great for prestige of EFL cup. No disrespect to said teams. Previous to this agenda. they'd want united v pool final People think too much imo :-)

The EFL Cup, or simply the League Cup, is an annual knockoutassociation football competition in men's domestic English football. Organised by theEnglish Football League (EFL), it is open to any club within the top four levels of the English football league system – 92 clubs in total – comprising the top levelPremier League, and the three divisions of the English Football League's own league competition (Championship, League One and League Two).

Where did I say that ? The two 'big' EFL teams got home draws they'd be expected to win, they did, one of the others got a home draw against Hull C, who they would have been expected to beat, considering what's going on at Hull. Reading were the ones shafted.

So look who's left so far, Arsenal who weren't going to lose at home against Reading, Liverpool, Hull (who weren't really favourites), Leeds U, Newcastle U (the biggest 2 EFL clubs left). Tomorrow it comes down to one of united/City, West Ham/Chelsea, and most likely Southampton(/Sunderland, who have more serious issues to focus on).

I'd say they will end up with just about the best 1/4 final line up they could have hoped for (fixed).

not sure PEP grasps the "fundementals" of a rag derby, especially a cup match .need a strong team out tommorrow, at least for the first 60 mins , to give us some breathing space. already missing kdb, Im concerned it will go tits up ..

People said similar before the league game there. They're not all out to get us.
Oh yes they are...if you can't see the agenda you must be blind....they've toned it down this time but it's still evident....words like "backlash" and the sudden promotion of our players mistakes in bold headline stories....wait till we get the 25 minutes pre match rag love in (excuses set) before the game and 5 minutes on City. Wake up please !!

First goal is key. Read a stat that we have been behind 7 times in the last 5 games. Earlier in the season, we used to start at high intensity and fade in the second half. Would like to see that rather than chasing in the second half.
