People said similar before the league game there. They're not all out to get us.
We'll see, it would be a very popular win for them tomorrow, so I suspect they'll get as much help as is absolutely possible (lets face it they probably do need some), and while none of us like him mourinho badly needs a good result, and this is a bit of free hit. I'm not expecting much, its fair to say.

As I said earlier, I'm not normally one for conspiracies, but as soon as I heard the draw, I thought "fix". In fact I thought the draw as a whole looked very, shall we say, convenient, and not just our game, get rid of the most PL teams you can, while keeping the most EFL teams you can, it'll be the same next round too I expect.

I noticed that at the time, but never really understood why they would "fix" the draw in that way. Surely it's more in their interests to keep all of the big boys in as long as possible. The competition is already devalued enough as it is.

Yes but its the EFL cup, so as many EFL teams getting as far as possible is surely a good advert for the EFL ? Leeds and Newcastle representing EFL in 1/4 final, probably 2 of the biggest EFL clubs, and will probably draw each other after tomorrow, Bristol C had a decent chance of beating Hull too, but didn't.

They'll still end up with Arsenal, Liverpool, one of us, and probably 2 others from the top 7, so they're still not losing out if 5 of the last 8 are top 7 PL.

I always think they come as a package and speak as one,if yaya wants to play he would get Seluk to mumble an apology,it's really sad it's come to this

Yeah, you're probably right. Toure knows he's out of here in the summer regardless, or possibly even January, so can't see him falling out with Seluk just to play a couple of extra EFL Cup games for us. Shame it's come to this.

I dunno, just seems a bit far fetched to me. What are they going to do, rig the draw every season to benefit EFL clubs? Seems far more plausible that it was just a freak draw this year.
