I dunno, just seems a bit far fetched to me. What are they going to do, rig the draw every season to benefit EFL clubs? Seems far more plausible that it was just a freak draw this year.
What I would also add is that if they were rigging the draw, I doubt people like Phil Thompson and Tony Cottee etc would be the chosen ones to pull it off. If Penn and Teller were doing the draw, I'd be inclined to believe there's an elaborate illusion going on, but not with the numpties that actually do the draw.

not sure PEP grasps the "fundementals" of a rag derby, especially a cup match .need a strong team out tommorrow, at least for the first 60 mins , to give us some breathing space. already missing kdb, Im concerned it will go tits up ..
We beat their golden generation with Benjani and Vassell. We can beat their current shower with Navas and Fernando :)

Would love to see Aleix in Fernandinho's pivot role much more than Fernando, but maybe both will start after all. Though I'm a bit pessimistic, given that we didn't see him since the Swansea LC game.

Has Mourinho indicated what sort of side he will be playing?

If we play our reserves against a full strength side in a Derby we will be mullered.

Wev'e never won a cup game at The Swamp according to Wiki, I thought we had.

Gives us a chance to put another nail in the coffin.
I think Peg is a dead man walking, he looks at a very low ebb and the fact that he has been at the Lowry for five months says it all... He really doesnt want to be based outside London

My heart bleeds, £15 million a year but he can't work 150 miles away from his loved ones.... He'll quit I think eventually, or get himself sacked again

He says that he lives in a goldfish bowl and can't go out of the hotel to walk around, that's because he's a cnut who everybody loves to hate, all his own doing, you never heard that about Mancini did you... he could walk the streets happily. Peg is an example of the old saying "you reap what you sow"

He didn't even have a press conference before the match, but going by his history in the League Cup with Chelsea and by their form and his reluctance to play youth, I think it's evident that they will go with an almost fully established starting eleven. Possibly Shaw, Martial, Mata or even Carrick might come in, though my guess would be that he'll stick with Fellaini just to hoof the ball to someone, as he did in the 2nd half against us this year.

Felliani is injured apparently.

He says he's going to play a combination of expensive misfits and second rate youngsters, rather than change anything because its the league cup
