Given the number of footballers and coaching staff that have tested positive in the last week, it is mind boggling to think what the true number of positives is in the wider population. Clearly footballers and coaching staff are tested more but we must be talking about 5% minimum of all PL players and coaching staff?? The numbers are quite astonishing given we only heard about the new variant 3 weeks ago

I am HOPING it means that the current strain, although more transmissible, MAY be less harmful than the Delta variant, and the reason we are seeing a lot of cases in the football world is because of more testing (of people without symptoms)

I don't think the PL will call it off on Monday, but Leicester are one of the clubs with a covid outbreak, so that might make the game questionable.
