The sad thing is...he works a lot harder then Dzeko....I would have been less upset if Dzeko had gone.....No way City's money men can guarantee..Aguero/Jovetic staying 100% fit this season......whichever way you want to look at it...this is a massive risk by the club.....
Agree completely with this.

While we improved this window squad wise I don't think we have gone to the next level like I thought we would. Felt we would come up short even before today's dealings, now it just cements my view.

We should have kept Guidetti - who will play up front in the LC now, if we want to keep the other 3 fresh for the 3 main comps?
Mangala, he looks the bees arse going forward

Bad business. Get rid of the beast and keep the clumsy lethargic Bosnian? Madness.

We keep Sinclair and Guidetti and off load Negredo?

That's 18 outfield players we have that would get a start and will have to carry us through to January not including Nasty and Boyata.

I hope we get a decent run with injuries ffs because we must be the smallest squad going around that is in the chumps league for sure and certain and has designs to challenge for the title as well.

Jose must be grinning from ear to ear at present.

Wonder if the scribes will drill MP on why there was no replacement for Negredo when he stated last Friday he was a required player and he wanted four strikers like last year.
Chelsea's day

From the moment it broke that Utd had got Falcao the writing was on the wall. Still FFP is well and truly behind us now, and that is something. It has affected us whatever we might say, and I think it was a factor in not being able to replace Negredo. Once we bought Mangala we were forced to wait for an incoming Spanish bid for Negredo before we could try and buy a replacement. Do it the other way, an we'd be lucky not to be thrown out of the Champions League

At the end of the day Negredo would have been out for a couple of months & was due to be left out of the CL squad

We still have a war chest should we need someone come January

€30mil euros for a soon to be 30 year old making an 8 million profit is good business whichever way you look at it

Negredo will be an OBLIGATION to buy for 30m Euros. Valencia will sign him for that price from Man City next summer say BBC

Why didn't they just pay the 30m Euros straight off instead of loaning him?
The guy taking over Valencia hasn't fully completed the formalities according to 5live earlier this evening, but its certain he will, and it gives them a years grace on the full fee, which they are now obligated to pay, I assume they have insurance against injury, but its not our problem given the details of the deal.

It was unlikely he'd be available for us anyway until November, and it seems he didn't want to be here, good luck Alvaro, hope life is good to you back in Spain.

City confirm it's an obligation to buy not an option.

No more beauty and the beast :(

It's more hurting that we haven't replaced him rather than him going. But MP just won a double. He's not thick. Negrado out for September, possibly October. Maybe they had doubts he'd be ready until later than that with his track record? Maybe he has made it clear he needs to leave and could prove difficult? We don't know. What do know is there are good people running our club, can comfortably play an attacking game with 1up front (Spain did it with 0 up front for a bit) and we are free to buy in January if need to.

Is he the first since swp we've made a profit on too?

Think many just want the titillation of a marquee signing, not that there's anything wrong with that

I would have been devastated had Edin gone, much more important to us than the beast.

All the best and good luck Alvaro, come on you blues!

Agree. Bizarre when people overvalue effort so much scoring goals that helped us win a title doesn't compare.

We should be good without him if injuries doesn't screw us.

Businesswide, great job. We had him score 25 goals and spent 0 pounds on him.
We should have made a profit on him .
Even a small profit .
We lost money on Mario Balotelli

The more I think about it, the more barmy it is.

We can't predict Jovetic's and Aguero's fitness but going from last season, it will be up and down. The club obviously must know this.

The club also know we play with two strikers.

And to top it off, it's a loan. I know it's a good deal but we won't see the benefit until next summer.

Howver you dress it up, United have gained a 30 goal a season striker today and we have lost a 25 goals a season striker for a small loan fee.

I am so confused as to the meaning of that... what does a bee's ass look like? Wait have they got asses?

He might work harder than Dzeko but I would choose Edin over the Beast every day of the week.

In his first half of the season Negrado was on fire but so was the team. IMO he came across as the type of player who was excellent when things was going well but went missing when the going got tough. I know he had that injury but I'd be very surprized if that was the sole reason for his drop in form in the second part of the season. By contrast, time and time again Edin has come up trumps when we've needed him.

I just don't get the negativity. IMO, we've strengthened the squad with the acquisitions of Willy, Fenrnado, Sagna, Mangala and Lampard. Got rid of majority of deadwoood.Lost a decent player in Beast that hasn't been replaced but overall on a window hamstrung by FFP we've actually made a net PROFIT.
