Spot on. When I was younger this was about sending a card, or a gift, to a girl you fancied, and most of the time it was anonymous - then acting on it. Nowadays it's about making you feel guilty if you don't spend a small fortune on your significant other. Utter shite. I prefer to treat the missus to ad hoc little trinkets throughout the year.

Fair play to the marketing guys (Bill Hicks was right about that shower of twats), they've done a cracking job though.

I hate Valentines day with a passion. It coincides with the anniversary of my mum passing away, 18 years now and it's still raw. I always make a trip to the crem to see her name in the book and leave some flowers. As per usual the price of flowers will go up by about 200%
