I am not happy he is a very good coach, even on his own, but compared to Moyes even more...

Might not be a pleasant person to be around but Ferguson was similar. United players know how to behave under a dictator, van Gaal can be similar in that sense and tactically he is lot better than Ferguson was.

With them out of Europe, only 1 important league game a week, would be hardly surprising if they are top3 next season especially if they just can sign half of the players that are in the rumours...
They spent a frew years now without buying that real quality CM's (Fellaini lol) I think now they will spend big on it, Kroos, Strootman, maybe both, we we wont hear jokes like Moyes did last summer "why sign anyone these are the Champions of the country" then 6 month later he said "we need to sign at least 6-7 new players".
:DD

Van Gaal will sort them out, and probably leave behind a very good basic to the new manager after him 2 or 3 years later. That happened with Bayern too.

He will fallout with some players and maybe even attacks the Glazers at some point:D, but that doesnt take the fact he is a huge improvement for them after Moyes.

^^^^ agree with all this ^^^^

The main problems he has are:

1, He has inherited a shite squad that needs IMO 8 players

2. He does not have the lure of Champions League football to attract the worlds very best (which is what they need)

3. RVP v Rooney will make for some very uncomfortable situation... Watch this space, popcorn is on sale in the Foyer.

And don't forget PotY Shagger Giggs as Assistant Manager. Appointing this pillock has gotta be worth a dozen points! No ref will want to come off a pitch having given a pen in the last ten mins to the oppos and then see Giggsy tappin' his todger on the touchline!

Sooo the rags get a manager who is spending half his summer in Brazil concentrating on his current job

Yet all of a sudden they are going to become title challengers again

Do you realise how far away they are from us on the football pitch?

Spending £200 million won't even cover half of the gap :)

Putting the blue specs down for a moment. If I was Van Gaal, I would do the following.

No problems with De Gay

Work with Rafael, Jones, Evans and Smalling, but needs to buy Hummels and Shaw. (60 million) Do away with Evra and Rio. Too old and too vocal.

Use Mata, Kagawa and Januzaj with new signings like Vidal, Strootman or Kroos at a long shot, and bring in some real pace like Reus or Lucas Moura . Use Carrick and Fletcher as back up and sell Fellani and Cleverley.
Work with Van Persie and Rooney, but sell either Wellshit or Little piss for 20m and then sign Cavani who apparently is desperate to get out of PSG where he is playing second fiddle to Ibrahimovic.

In summary

Out - Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Fellani, Cleverley, Wellbeck or Hernandez = 60 million
In - Hummels, Shaw, Reus, Moura, and any one of Vidal, Strootman or Kroos. And Cavani.= 180 million

120m net spend.

Not sure you own any blue specs by the looks of this post

City or Chelsea spend 100m + and we are buying success.

Rags spend 100 - 200m and they are 'rebuilding'

What's the difference?

How are they going to get £60 million for that shower of shite.

Vidic and Rio gone for fuck all and i'm sure Evra is the same, nobody will pay more than £15 million for Fellaini and Cleverly, wellbeck and Hernandez aren't going to generate another £45 million. (unless Steve Bruce or Ole buy them.)

I think a lot of united fans would snap your hand off for that transfer activity, but then they would have to take their red tinted specs off

Out - Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Fellani, Cleverley, Wellbeck or Hernandez = 60 million no way that lot gets you £60 million. Vidic, Camelgob and Evra are leaving for free as their contracts have ran out. Fellaini would get 15 million depending on how his WC goes. Hernandez £7-£10 million and I can't see them selling Welbeck.

In - Hummels, Shaw, Reus, Moura, and any one of Vidal, Strootman or Kroos. And Cavani.= 180 million bearing in mind their in the kind of market we were in a few years ago, as in they NEED some quality, the selling clubs will hold them to ransom. No way do you get Reus for less than £35million, and id say Kroos you are looking at £30million, PSG will want their money back on Cavani so thats another £45-£50 million. Shaw as we know looking at £25 million and Vidal and Strootman won't go for less than £25 million.

Then you take into consideration that all of the above will be playing CL football at their current clubs (Strootman/Shaw aside) so personally i can't see them leaving to go to a club not in Europe

All in all, even if the above happens, you are looking at bringing 5 new players in, with a huge backbone of players going out, it will take a season to even get these playing together as a team

I predict another pretty humerous season over there, maybe not as funny as this season, but there will still be a fair few laughs :)

Trouble is he will not have a full pre-season with them and despite what he has achieved in his career van Gaal is notorious for being a slow starter, The press will love him though and Maureen will be his lap dog.

They have more income.

What that has to do with fairness is beyond me?

In which alternative universe does Hernandez fetch £20m?? I doubt you'd get much more than £40m incoming for that lot, nobody with a brain cell is going to pay more than £15m for Fellaini.

I see Dwight ''rentaquote'' Yorke has been wheeled out as per usual. Now, I thought I was ugly. Actually, scrub that; I know I'm ugly. That bloke is just abusing the privilege and taking the piss. How's your son doing Dwight? You do remember your son, don't you?

Just seen its confirmed. Wow did not see this appointment coming (apart from the last 6 weeks in the media and sky sports following him everywhere like a little puppy) /sarcasm off

1st job- forced to take Giggs as Assistant.
