van trackers, parrots and blackberry phones!

blackberry phones have a "send contact location", meaning before he issued you with the phones, he would of done this.
so you reckon it could be through the phones?
surely if he is going to be watching me through tracking my phone he has to tell me this has got to be invasion of privacy.
either way its morally wrong whatever way you look at it
ive just found a site that can trackblackberry phones silently record calls and messages and even retrieve all photos taken by the phone.

Sorry OP, slightly off topic......... I did some safety critical contract work, protecting some welsh builders, working at rainhill station a few years ago, when the gaffer rolled up, pulled out a shotgun and chased a young joiner through the station car park and onto the street outside (the lad got away). The gaffer came back, put the gun in his boot, then started apologising to me about what had happened. Apparently, he had fitted a tracker to the vans, for insurance purposes, when there was a rumour the 'young un' was knocking some bored housewife off, the gaffer thought he'd do some detective work, to rib him about it, turned out he had been parked outside HIS house 18 times in ONE MONTH!

How did it come to light ?
it came to light by way of a letter with my wage slip at the weekend.
the letter was pretty much telling us that our times will no be watched by way of sattelite tracking systems on our vehicles in other words it pretty much says they are already in there and that means they must have been there for the last two months.

Have you been singled out?
no they have fitted them on every ones van but they have covered it up by fitting parrot hands free devices at the same time.

Whilst sneaky, not illegal unless they attempt to impose or use the info retrospectively, once you accept your wages with this letter you accept this as a change to your terms and conditions.
This is what I've been led to believe but have a word with your Union if you have one for an authoritative opinion.

If your working, in your bosses time and in a company vehicle why does it matter?

Why does that invade your privacy? I just don't understand.

If it was your own personal vehicle and your free time I see your point...

Oh well, you'll just have to do the job your paid to do now won't you.

You must be fucking about in your bosses time or I don't see why you would be livid

i was given the van two months ago and was told nothing about it being trackered in fact i asked if it was and was told no, so ive been lied to the one thing i cant stand is liars.
im pretty sure i make him a lot of money and a little bit of professional courtesy shouldnt be too much to ask now should it?
but im guessing your as much of a tosser as he is otherwise you would see my point.

Yeah I see your point, you don't want him to know where you are.

He owns the vans and pays the wages.

Would you not want to know where they were if you owned them?
