Can we get rid of this once and for all. All the screen does is say 'VAR check ongoing' or 'No penalty'. It does not show the incident. It does not assist the Rags or Dips by not having one.
The only reason the Rags havent got one is that they would have to take seats out therefore cutting revenue. As for the scousers, they havent got one because they havent been able to nick one yet.

You’re right but as everyone is saying VAR only transparent if fans see what’s going on and said. Ultimately I think that will happen, so rags and dippers should be forced to get set. And yes I realize the spouse one may be 200 Samsung 44inch screens taped together. Batteries for the remotes might be a problem some games

But go back to the free kick/penalty award. How was that a clear and obvious error. They cannot interpret the law differently every time but they do. Clear and obvious means he sent the wrong player off, he missed the defender diving and tipping the shot round the post with his hand. It does not mean two inches from the 18 yard box line. For offside, clear and obvious should mean the same, not lines drawn on a screen and a debate about when a player kicked it towards the forward.
The whole thing is a farce.

This, all day long. It's this ruling that ruins the game. And dare I say it, VAR itself.

No. His claim is valid. It is a valid point. Him making the claim is hypocracy.

Yes he does suffer from hypocrisy, as does large swathes of their fans. My point wasn't in relation to his claim though. It was more in agreement with your last sentence relating to the team being benefactors of numerous similar decisions to the one he was complaining about.

VAR at the Leicester game yesterday actually made me remember just how shit that type of experience is for the match attending fan. I have always had a radio earpiece when attending a game so may have had some idea of WTF was going on with the Penalty, No Penalty, Offside, Not Offside, it's a Goal interlude but 99.9% wouldn't have a clue. I'll never forget that Spurs CL game when Sterling scored. I was next to the Spurs fans in SS3 and hundreds had trudged out and were downstairs before that goal was ruled out. Personally I don't think there's a match going fan that wouldn't now accept a return to Referee's/Linesman's call and just accept some you lose and some you win, but most importantly ALL you can celebrate or curse immediately. In the search of perfection, they have forever destroyed the enduring enjoyment of attending live sport.

I think I’m in the minority that actually likes VAR. People have forgotten how many bad decisions were made by our poor officials. There’s plenty of improvements I would make to VAR though. Allowing everyone to hear what the officials are saying, just like in rugby. They’ve got it nailed the rugby officials. It’s much more professional than staring at a football referee looking at a monitor with no clue what is going on.

VAR needs to operated and completely transparent, EXACTLY the same as Rugby. No hiding/deciding what they fancy giving. Show the crowd WHAT you’re looking at and how you e come to that decision.
it’s only known as Vary Any Result because it’s being manipulated to how they see fit.

I support my local Premiership rugby team. The VAR decisions are a part of the spectator experience. The ref doesn’t go to a small screen but watches on the big screen along with the fans. It works well on the whole.

Make all communications between ref, Linesmen and VAR public as they do in Rugby, Cricket etc or it will never be accepted or seen as fair and impartial.

The refusal to go down this simple route as other sports have simply leads me to believe with good reason that they have everything to hide im afraid.
