If you have a backup designed to correct human errors, and your backup doesn't correct the errors, your backup is a bit shit and shouldn't be defended imo.

Refs on the pitch on their own simply can not give clear and correct decisions and it’s farcical. And when var don’t even give a correct decision. It’s even more farcical.

Would love a system to help refs make decisions. But once I heard Howard Webb say that Jesus Navas was fouled in the penalty area, but it was a brave referee to not give a penalty I knew it wasn't going to work.

Presumably he was not asked to because the VAR studied the video and concluded that it was clearly not a penalty. It suggests the VAR did not even think it was worthy of the referee looking at the monitor. The VAR watched the foul and decided with absolute certainty that it was not a penalty. The only reason for this is corruption.

The VAR cheated. There can be no other explanation.

Im pro VAR (disgrace tonight mind), i was driving home and heard Mark Chapman say they had released a statement which said some codswallop about the ref thinking their keeper had got a hand on it, so didnt see anything to disprove that view. Totally bizarre!!

Yep. Or we sack Mike Riley, and get someone in that can introduce a proper system that is effective and fair.

I can accept human error in the heat of the moment. I can't accept video assisted human error.

English Refs in this Barca PSG game. VAR reviewed messi missed penalty for encroachment. The PSG player who cleared the ball was shown clearly to be 2 yards inside the box and var didn’t over turn it.

All i could put that bullshit down to tonight was the dickhead on VAR not wanting to undermine one of his mates,it was like this for the 1st 6 months of its existence ie the Silva incident at Bournemouth
