VAR - 2020/21

Paul Scholes is a biased dirty rag bastard, but even he has just said that the rags got away with one when Milans perfectly good goal was ruled out for handball.
Not one Rag defender appealed for handball. The referee didn't see anything wrong and yet his mate sat in some studio did.
VAR is clearly being used to help certain teams and it shows how bent it is.
It's all in the 50/50 decisions. That's where the cheating happens, and utd juve, bayern get the vast majority I think.

Now its VAR its easier to screw because they don't get held to account, the ref does/did.

I want rid of VAR mainly because its an opportunity to cheat without comeback - "its VARs fault "

I keep reading that Foden was to honest that's why VAR didnt award City a penalty.
Since when has the quality of the fall been part of a penalty decision ?

VAR on Foden " that looked like a stonewall penalty but his fall wasnt very good , he didnt throw both arms in the air and scream, he didnt even roll around or try to put a pike into the fall. So I only score that fall 1 out of 10 and no penalty, very poor from Foden.

VAR on liverpool or utd " didnt look like a penalty never touched him but the fall was very good. Both arms thrown into the air, lots of height in the jump with both legs high and bent by the knees brining his feet up to his arse, very good. Than the 6 rolls on the ground and that terrible scream. One of the best falls I have seen all, so i give it 9 out 10 and a penalty "

I thought VAR was to see if the was a foul regardless of how the player goes down.

This gem from the BBC transfer gossip column

  • The Premier League is writing to clubs asking for feedback from managers, directors of football and captains on VAR with a view to implementing improvements to the technology next season.
I’m not convinced that most of the issues relate to the technology per se, more around the twats managing and over seeing it. In my view it’s a people thing, not a technology issue (although I note comments from some, more knowledgable than me, about the speed of recording and therefore the ability to 'freeze fame' at precisely the right moment).

Shoot all the refs (including Riley) and start fresh, that should work.

The offside tech is flawed in that the frame rate is too slow to give an accurate decisions (sometimes as much as 30cm difference). This means it is EASILY open to manipulation. As for foul play decisions the technology isn't really the limiting factor, it's the bent b@stards operating it.

The quality of the fall became 90% of the incident and the added ten percent given over to contact, slight contact, a hair's touch or no contact at all the minute Rags and Dippers had perfected the tumble after a couple of hours in the gym. We have players who want to perform their craft, stay on their feet and score, despite clear and obvious tugs, pushes 'n trips!

VAR should not have been implemented until we had a 24ct rock solid wholly merchantable and wholly transparent product that was not open in the slightest to any kind of manipulation like it is now. Unfortunately, the PL, the RDAHMeedya, Rags, DIppers, PiGMOL, and assorted gymnasts, tumblers and acrobats were delighted with its introduction and its application. If it ever got to be what it ought to be then yer bet yer bottom dollar that those benefiting at the moment from being thrown to the ground with a waft off the corner flag will cry red, white, green, yellow and any kind of the rainbow murder - but never blue murder.

A far worse decision than Fodens non penalty was Milan's disallowed goal.
No one anywhere but the Var studio saw a handball and yet a crucial early (away) goal is disallowed.
The way VAR is used is open to corruption and the everyone stays quiet!!

But the current lot would still bullshit. Look at the former refs on TV who virtually always back their mates decisions. Has Walton ever said a ref got it wrong?
We don't need refs miked up we need competent professionals who are willing to accept they make mistakes and it is not an insult to correct those mistakes.
Agree absolutely about the incompetence. Being able to hear the dialogue would require someone, whether the ref or Stockley Park, to give their views/explanations. At present silence allows imbecilic explanations to be conjured up and repeated minutes (or the following day) after the event rather than in the immediate aftermath.

That's the whole point, it gives them time to think of an excuse. It's also why they're miked up in rugby, they can't change their story.
