1033 fans then..

Not really enough of a sample to pro rata the findings I would suggest and project 7 out of 10 fans are in favour of how VAR is being used..

Hundreds and hundreds of thousands of fans attend PL games each season and VAR is to be accepted because approximately 12 bus loads of supporters, all sat down on the buses btw, no one standing, have voted it to be acceptable..

You carry on and keep telling everyone how brilliant VAR is and I'll skip over your posts, it'll save a bit of eyesight wear..!

Don't forget to post your top 20 positive VAR decisions..!

how about this sample ...

The biggest ever study into VAR, published last monthin the Journal of Sports Sciences, found that it raised the accuracy of “match-changing decisions” from 92.1% to 98.3%

The research, based on 2,195 competitive matches across 13 leagues, involved asking a panel of referees to check 9,732 VAR decisions.

....

‘20 positive VAR decisions’

will be very easy - I’ll check the last 40 VAR decisions in the prem. I’m sure 35 ish were conclusively the correct decisions. will dig out tomorrow.
have a good one bud.

The survey asking referees to justify referee decisions resulted in 98.3% accuracy......I'm surprised it wasn't 100%. VAR should be there for off sides, ball out of play and over the line. Penalties have always been the refs opinion (or instruction) and with VAR it still is. Only now he can do the imaginary screen with his hands and say "it's not just me but some no-mark sat in an office miles away who agrees with me". Then Sly wheel out Dermot Gallagher on a Monday morning to try and convince us that all is well in Pigmol world, VAR was meant to clear up the contraversy with disputed decisions but it hasn't. How can Mane get a yellow for virtually punching Tierney in the face at high speed and Martial see Red for barely touching Lamela? How can Shaw not be sent off and the guy who assaulted Bernardo also? However my mind is already made up as you might guess from my posts. FFP and VAR brought in by UEFA, PL, G14, Red Shirts et al with a complicit media who need to sell copy and subscriptions to stop City, PSG, Chelski or any team in future to have a chance of competing at the top table. Newcastle nearly had a shot but was closed down quickly under the "fit and proper test" referencing human rights abuses. There is too much money at stake for the entitled not to rig the competition under the guise of fairness! IMO obviously.

Is the extra 6% of accuracy worth ripping the spontaneity and thus the heart and soul from game?

for many that is the case, for others it's not - i've enjoyed watching Hammers games this season more than many previous years before, watching spurs stuff united 6-1 and Villa beat Liverpool 7-2 at the weekend was just brilliant and pure entertainment - despite the odd VAR controversy, it's a long way from ripping the heart and soul away from the game IMO of course.

You weren't there when Aguero 'scored' in the last minute against Spurs.

Yes sorry, I saw Aguero in my head because of the offside by a toenail.

was very cruel

but here goes, i wasn't there correct.

it was offside and the correct decision - is it not unfair on the opposition if a goal offside is allowed to stand ?

without VAR there are many incidences of a lino flagging offside when it isn't, that could have happened also.

Pep after that game came out and said '' It is what it is, and i support VAR ''

Pep said that because he was on a suspended EUFA charge.
Look, we could argue until the cows come home about VAR. In my view it isn't worth it if decisions are 92% accurate anyway.
and being offside by a toenail? - is that really within the spirit of the game, offside was invented to stop goal hanging.
