Var ruled Liverpool’s extra time winner out for offside in the derby. Good! But was it fuck offside. the game is some much worse for it.

Ironically as he was just promoted from there. The VAR official (David Coote) can look forward to a nice trip to some League Two backwater as well.
I was an advocate for VAR. Still on the fence about it. Used correctly its a great aid for the ref. Offsides should be given if and only if there is clear daylight between attacker and defender as its too close to call armpits, toes and heels. With offsides it isn't VAR that's at fault its the implementation and FAs need for controversy. Off the ball incidents and horror tackles have decreased since VAR (protecting players like haaland should have been), richarlisons tackle today might have been overlooked by a (scum red team 1 & 2 supporter, sorry alty/tranmere fan) referee. Pickford should have gone as well which is inconsistency. Until VAR is used correctly ie, implementation & consistency its hard to argue for it being used apart from player protection.
But, I'm glad it worked shitly today coz pickford should have gone, haha. About time something cost them points and now we get to see how they enjoy being without their key defender for a while. Unless the magic "inhaler" has him back for the next match.
Honest question - which part of his body was offside because I've seen it three times and I still can't tell.It was offside
but before VAR. The ref might have flagged. How’s it any different
