VAR - 2020/21

Paul Scholes is a biased dirty rag bastard, but even he has just said that the rags got away with one when Milans perfectly good goal was ruled out for handball.
Not one Rag defender appealed for handball. The referee didn't see anything wrong and yet his mate sat in some studio did.
VAR is clearly being used to help certain teams and it shows how bent it is.

The VAR decision at the Swamp today (to chalk off AC Milan's perfectly legitimate goal) was not an honest mistake. Nor was the failure to award a penalty last night. Neither of these two decisions can be explained away by mere incompetence. Something has to be done.

I like many others welcomed the installation of var to stop all the refs from fooking up but instead it’s made things now twice as worse. Like most have said on here there’s no recourse to those at stockley park. What there should be is a independent panel doing it not other referees who don’t want to make their fellow mates looking stupid.when we played spuds at ours and Jesus scored a thunder bastard right at the end of the game and it was chalked off for a perceived handball(that wasn’t) I knew then trouble was ahead.
Yep, my last game after 35 years .
They’re now deciding who wins matches

For me it’s trying to control the outcome of games, where we 2-1 up at the time of the stonewall foul on foden again keeping the game in the balance just like the Laporte disallowed goal against wolves which would have made it 2-0 just before HT.All about trying to manipulate the outcome..

The simple fact is uefa need the rags in the final and Milan should just accept they will not be allowed to win. Don't forget it would have been an away goal.

Football needs to follow rugby's example and mike up the refs. Decisions need to be explained and the dialogue between the ref and Stockley Park needs to be open. Until openness is achieved, the suspicions of skull-duggery and favouritism will not go away. It's a good idea ruined by the pervasive incompetence of its usage, something the football authorities have a long track record of.
Even the French rugby ref admitted he'd made a boo-boo. Football referees all think their Solomon.

But the current lot would still bullshit. Look at the former refs on TV who virtually always back their mates decisions. Has Walton ever said a ref got it wrong?
We don't need refs miked up we need competent professionals who are willing to accept they make mistakes and it is not an insult to correct those mistakes.

Yeah, Solomon Grundy, born on a Monday and fucked up every other day of the week!

The #PL have written to managers, DoFs, and captains to send in recommendations to improve VAR and current interpretations. Clubs have been told that the PL is working with the PGMOL 'to identify and implement improvements to VAR'. [via
